Pleasant stay buy stressful first night
Emailed through Expedia's web site to contact apartment owner two weeks prior to flying to Cape Town to find out floor / room number, but never received any responses through Expedia's web site. Even emailed one last time 30 minutes prior to boarding our flight, but did not get any response before leaving Australia. Arrived at building but could not access keys and had no knowledge of room number. Security was not able to help either. Thankfully the taxi driver had compassion on us and offered his spare room in his house for our first night in Capetown. Once at his address, we gained access to our emails and found one, only one part of an email from the building manager with a phone number to call if we had any issues. We called the number and told the managers we could not gain access to our room. Managers said emails were sent weeks ago through Expedia, but apparently were not forwarded on to us through Expedia. Told over the phone our room number and where to retrieve our keys. The stress of being locked out was all too much for my wife the first night, but we did gain access the following day when the taxi driver drove us back to the apartment building. Everything else was good with our stay, only communication of vital information did not get passed onto us until too late.
