9 tips to save on your Airport car rental near Altoona

1. Use filters to find the right car: Refine your search by selecting the vehicle type and features that suit your needs. Whether you're looking for an SUV for added space, a convertible for summer drives, or an economy car for extra luggage, Expedia's filters can help you discover the perfect vehicle for your trip.
2. Book in advance for some of the best rates: It’s generally advisable to reserve your AOO car rental as early as possible to enjoy lower prices and a wider selection. Booking 1-3 months ahead is ideal, especially during peak travel seasons.
3. Age guidelines: Drivers under 30 may encounter higher deposits or daily surcharges, and certain vehicle types—such as SUVs or premium models—might have limited availability. This can also apply to renters over 70. Always verify the age requirements before finalizing your reservation.
4. Consider a budget-friendly car for savings: Smaller vehicles, such as economy or compact cars, are typically more affordable to rent and easier to park in crowded areas. Mid-size rentals strike a good balance between cost, comfort, and fuel efficiency.
5. Check fuel policies: Some rental agreements may require a full-to-full fuel policy, which means you must return the car with a full tank to avoid additional charges. This is usually the most economical choice. Other options may include full-to-empty or prepaid fueling, which can also work well—just be sure to return the car empty in that case.
6. Know your payment options: Most rental companies require a credit card in the driver’s name for security deposits. Debit cards may not always be accepted.
7. Understand your insurance coverage: Car rental insurance can help you avoid unexpected expenses and provides peace of mind in case of unforeseen events during your trip. Adding car rental insurance is a straightforward process when booking through Expedia.
8. Check for unlimited mileage: If you plan to spend considerable time on the road, look for rental options that offer unlimited mileage to prevent extra charges on longer journeys.
9. Bring your driver's license and ID: A valid driver's license is necessary to rent a car.
