9 tips to save on your Airport car rental near Bakersfield

1. Use filters to find the right car: Refine your search by vehicle type and features. Whether you need an SUV for extra space, a convertible for summer drives, or an economy car for additional luggage, utilize the filters on Expedia to discover the best option for your trip.
2. Book in advance for some of the best rates: To secure lower rates and a wider selection, it’s generally advisable to book your BFL car rental as early as possible. Aim to finalize your reservation 1-3 months ahead of your travel dates, especially during peak seasons.
3. Age guidelines: Drivers under 30 may encounter higher deposits or daily surcharges, and certain vehicle types—such as SUVs or premium models—might have restricted availability. This could also apply to renters over 70 years old. Always verify age requirements before completing your booking.
4. Consider a budget-friendly car for savings: Smaller vehicles, like economy or compact cars, are typically less expensive to rent and easier to maneuver in crowded areas. Mid-size rentals strike a good balance between cost, comfort, and fuel efficiency.
5. Check fuel policies: Some rentals may have a full-to-full fuel policy, which requires you to return the car with a full tank to avoid additional fees. This is often the most economical choice. Others may provide full-to-empty or prepaid fueling options, which are acceptable too; just ensure you return the car empty in that case.
6. Know your payment options: Most rental companies require a credit card in the driver's name for security deposits, as debit cards are not always accepted.
7. Understand your insurance coverage: Car rental insurance can help you avoid unexpected expenses and offers peace of mind if something unforeseen occurs during your trip. Adding car rental insurance is simple when booking with Expedia.
8. Check for unlimited mileage: If you plan to spend a considerable amount of time on the road, look for rentals that offer unlimited mileage to prevent incurring extra costs on longer journeys.
9. Bring your driver's license and ID: A valid driver's license is mandatory to rent a car.
