Nice hotel

Nice hotel with pleasant staff. Evening food good and breakfast fine. Good facilities on site, with swimming pool as well. Large well equipped room. Good location for Cardiff centre

Always a good stay

Comfy and clean room with friendly, helpful staff. Since last stay they have also had BP Pulse installed for EV's which is very useful. Stayed before and will stay again. Useful for Cardiff and surrounding area

Nice relaxed atmosphere and ideally situated for access into Cardiff. Staff were very helpful, especially the night receptionist Chris. Room was clean and tidy,if a little tired. Possibly do with a refresh. Would be happy to stay again

Avoid this hotel

We usually use holiday inns for work purposes and I've stayed in plenty. You would usually expect a decent level of hotel. This one needs to be avoided. Poor condition, mouldy rooms and poor service.

Avoid at all costs

Swimming pool dirty. Room dirty and dusty. Steam room not working! Hotel rooms and spa area in badly in need of a makeover. Hotel over priced. Breakfast basic and cold.

Not great, but convenient location.

Hotel is tired decor-wise and in need of a refresh in places and good clean in others (didn’t risk sitting in the room’s armchair) Restaurant service was below par. Staff seemed to be more keen to chat with each other than actually serve. Meal inclusive deal (two courses) was a bit of a farce given everything the dessert ended up on the bill, along with the manager’s‘complimentary’ drink for my inconvenience. Check out was a chore with only a single member of staff on the desk @ 8am when lots of people were leaving at the same time (to get to work by the look of most of us). Will I stay here again ? With a Village Hotel nearby… No !

Not as expected...

A rather disappointing visit. Booked here so we could use the pool, only to find it was booked out completely for swimming lessons throughout the day 10-6. Misinformed about an available slot which turned out not to be, too. So no swim over the two days as we were offsite in the evenings. Booked a queen bed, got two singles. And tea, coffee and milk supplies were not topped up during second day, when we were very late back in the evening, so no morning cuppa!

Very pleasant and helpful staff. Another well managed Holiday Inn; the only criticism is the access from the gigantic round-about. You could easily miss the exit from the main road. Getting onto the flow of traffic is easy. In all we enjoyed our stay.

Slightly disappointed by the hotel. My room was a nice size. The buffet breakfast was also decent and customer service was good. My room however was very tired. The furniture was tatty and the carlet was disgusting. Heavily stained to the point I didn’t dare walk on it bare footed. There was signs of mold around the window frame. The matteress was very springy. Had to move a lot in the night to avoid the springs.

Loved having a swimming pool, and the restaurant and lounge areas were absolutely lovely. The staff were very helpful when we had issues with the interconnecting door and the room keys, promptly resolving the issues.
