“Cannot fault this lovely hotel. Just wanted to comment, to be patient with food order. We arrived at 7.30pm, staff where clearly busy, there was also a wedding in the venue. We where not served our starters until 9pm and deserts till after 10pm with a young family this was obviously not ideal. I must comment all food (apart from veggie option) was very good.”

“Having a bar/restaurant on-site was very helpful. Parking was free and convenient. Only downfall is that the TV didn't work well at all and the location was a bit away from city centre, but that wasn't a huge priority for me. Breakfast was delicious”

“Lovely stay at lord Beganals. The property is fabulous tastefully decorated and beautiful fresh flowers in the lobby. Staff are very friendly special mention to Karen and Kay breakfast team !! Food in restaurant also delicious and freshly prepared very efficient even though it was very busy Sleepy little village with lovely walk along the river If you want to make this place even more special consider adding a spa or pool. No matter we’ll be back 💚”

“The check-in was very smooth. The staff member showed us through the property including the smoking area, public washrooms, the breakfast area and our room. It’s upstairs from a pub so we needed all that information to find the amenities. He showed us where to park the car for the night. A full Irish breakfast was included and it was wonderful. The food aitress who served us was lovely. We booked this at the last minute when our other accommodation fell through. We all had a good sleep. Five……

“When arrived at hotel reception it was noisy and congested with children 👧 running around. I asked if possible for a room I quiet area of hotel, this was accommodated at an additional cost of £180 euros hence total cost £792 for two nights bed and breakfast, not good value for money.Room was clean and aided a restful night. Breakfast was like Piccadilly Circus with Children and a cartoon character walking around. I asked for gluten free crackers but not availability as don’t eat bread. Poor……

“The only thing we can complain about is that we couldn’t stay forever with Cathy! The place is much better than expected (really, much better). Super well equipped, comfortable, clean, and with marvelous decoration. The area where the house is located is absolutely stunning. And of course, we must mention Cathy again, she is incredibly nice, kind, intelligent, talkative, and made our one-night stay feel like being with family. We truly recommend this place to everyone who wants to spend a great……

“I stayed at Preston House last week. Hotels.com didn't send me the details on email as was outlined in the booking. I contacted the owner who was extremely helpful and gave me an upgrade and sent on all the details straight away. The house itself is beautiful and my room was spacious and comfortable and a really lovely place to stay. The owner checked in with me to make sure I got checked in ok and again the following day to make sure I had no problems with my stay. I work in Laois multiple……
