Shannon Airport is situated in County Clare just 16 miles west of Limerick. The N18 dual carriageway offers a convenient and quick connection to Limerick from the airport that should take no longer than half an hour to drive. An hourly bus service departs from the airport to Limerick taking just over an hour to reach the city centre. There is no rail service available but taxis can be found just outside the arrivals entrance.

Facilities in the airport also include a choice of restaurants and shops, places where you can change money, ATMs and Wi-Fi access. Shannon Airport was actually the birthplace of Duty-Free shopping.

Should you need accommodation near Shannon Airport there are a couple of options on its doorstep, but with Limerick itself so close you may just as well enjoy a night in what is a very welcoming city indeed.
