Welcome to "Pioneer Creek" Located near Cataloochi Ski Resort/Ranch in the heart of Maggie Valley. This Beautiful 1850's authentic Appalachian log cabin sits on a lush, walkable acre, filled with the sounds of a rushing, cascading creek. The creek wraps around the property perimeter, bringing a peaceful and melodic serenity, while you rock on the covered front porch. Unwind under the stars on the porches or enjoy story time around the fire pit. Enjoy this Civil War era cabin with all the modern comforts of home, such as a fully equipped large kitchen, flat screen TVs in every room and Charter Spectrum internet Wi-Fi. This property is located only minutes from the ski lifts and downtown Maggie Valley. It is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Waynesville and Asheville. Everyone is welcome, kids and pets included!

Friends get away

We had a nice relaxing stay. Loved the old cabin and the unique feel of the property and was the perfect place to set outside on the porch with a cup of coffee.

Love this cabin!

The soothing sound of the creek, the green lawn, the large kitchen, the nice master bedroom and bath, the antique log walls, the forest foliage...all add up to a relaxing mountain getaway.

While the cabin is quite cozy it was not as private as the pictures would lead you to believe. The creek was also not as close to the cabin as it seems either. We did enjoy hearing it while enjoying the porch though. The cabin could use a deep clean and some pruning of the bushes/shrubbery/and arbor entrance. A sidewalk from the steps to the porch would also be nice. It was raining just prior to our arrival and rock hopping carrying in bags isn’t easy. Communication with Patrick was easy and he was responsive to messages.

Great rustic cabin

We had a great time - loved the cozy cabin, unfortunately hot tub was out of order and was a little scared of the poison ivy near the arched entrance :) we would definitely stay again though the place was a hidden jewel!

Relaxing Anniversary Trip!!

Everything about this cabin was great! It was clean, easy to get to, close to town, relaxing! We would leave the front door open and just sit and listen to the stream. Highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing getaway!

Fall Family Getaway

Absolutely loved the historical setting with modern amenities of the cabin/home. So cozy! Loved sitting on the front porch for morning coffee, breakfast as a family in the kitchen/table, dinners cooked on the grill and evening fires in the fire pit outdoors. Great location/great place

Really great. The place felt bigger than it appeared in the photos, it has nice high ceilings and a great layout that really maximizes the space. The place had a nice separate bedroom for our daughter and lots of nice decor details. We had a wonderful stay and the location made it real easy to get to the Ski Mountain.

What a beautiful cabin! A1850 cabin with all the comfort of today! Love the fireplace in the bedroom and the coziness of the home. The rushing sound of the creek below and the closeness to everything!!

Perfect !

We loved our stay. The cabin was even better than we expected. It was very rustic, private, and the hot tub was great on the cool nights. We enjoyed coffee in the mornings on the front porch. The bed was very comfortable, & except for a few spider webs here & there, it was very clean & orderly. We definitely recommend this place & look forward to returning.

Wonderful cabin getaway

We had the most amazing stay in this very unique cabin! We loved the combination of an old cabin and modern conveniences! The cabin is well stocked with everything you might need or want. The beds were all very comfortable and my kids loved the loft upstairs. The front porch is so peaceful and the whole cabin has a very private feel to it. It felt like we were staying in someone’s private home instead of a rental property. Definitely a 10 out of 10 for our family!!

Great Cabin!!

This unique cabin is packed with personality. Rustic but up to date. It's situated in the woods with a beautiful back yard that is private. We built a little fire in the fire pit and made s'mores. We rode horses at Cataloochee Ranch at the top of the mountain and went on fabulous hikes. Ate a huge country style dinner at Smokey Shadows, just up from the cabin. We made lots of wonderful family memories here. Highly recommend!! We'll be back.

The cabin is beautiful! The location was quiet and peaceful! We loved being able to hear the creek from the living room. Having coffee on the front porch swing was the best! We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely be staying again in the near future!
