![Bonner Bridge is one of North Carolina's most well known man-made structures of it's kind (The Linn Cove Viaduct on the Blue Ridge Parkway is probably the most well known). This location makes for a great getaway at the Outerbanks to spend an entire day (and night). The location is popular for fishing and is ideal for landscape and astro photography. You can have lots of fun on some of the dunes, although getting the sand out afterwards is a big hassle.

This is one of my favorite images from this location. I love the warm light tones and the shadows that create a contrast in the foreground sand. It is created from a single exposure with only minor modifications made to adjust overall contrast and brightness. 

If you are interested in wildlife, the Pea Island Wildlife Refuge is nearby and is a very popular location.

“We have stayed with this group before so we knew what to expect. The condo was very clean, the furniture (and bed) was comfortable. The kitchen had the few necessities we needed for our stay. The only issues we encountered were that the remote in the bedroom had dead batteries, and that there were not 2 bedside tables in the bedroom so we had to improvise by using our cooler. “We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The communication was clear and timely. The condo is perfect for a family of four. Our kids (15 & 12) appreciated the TV in their bedroom for winding down at night. The kitchen was large enough to cook a couple of dinners at night. And the beach is only about 100 yards from the condo. We would recommend and would stay here again.”
