We had a really lovely stay. The apartment was a lot bigger than we expected. The kitchen was well equipped and the whole space was great. The restaurant options at the hotel were really good and the staff were all very friendly.
We loved the situation next to the golf course. It was extremely quiet and tranquil. The lodge had everything you could need and the underfloor heating was amazing. The Alexa was an added bonus which we wouldn't have expected. It was also great to have a dishwasher and coffee maker with tablets and tea/coffee provided. Altogether a really great experience.
We had a lovely stay at Appletree Lodges in Stoke by Nayland. The lodge was clean, comfortable, and equipped, with beautiful views and a peaceful setting. It was the perfect spot for a relaxing break. Just a couple of small touches could have made it a full five stars to ensure the kitchen was well equipped, but overall we really enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
An impromptu weekend with my best friend turned into one of the most relaxing, luxurious 2 days spent away from normal life. Thoroughly recommend the lodges and The Lake restaurant.
Lovely lodge but hugely overpriced.
The external woodwork needs a lot of attention, as does the access road.
The view from the balcany could have been lovely if the trees had beed trimmed
Very spacious apartment especially as there was only the two of us. Being on the first floor we had a great view of the trees, squirrels and birds in daylight and the night sky in the evening. I wish we had read the arrival instructions first as we initially drove along a single track road trying to locate the lodge initially. The wrong postcode also didn't help. All in all, we would be happy to return.
The apartment is lovely. The kitchen, parlor, bedroom and bath were all very nice.
The front desk told us they have housekeeping each day at noon. No one showed, so we called at 4 p.m. They said someone would come straight away. At 5 called again, as no one showed up. Later a nice maintenance man brought some coffee and bisquits. The next day no housekeeping. But we were told to empty our own rubbish bins. They need to be clearer about how to get housekeeping and whether it is truly available.
The tiny road from the resort to the cabins is not very clearly marked and you go up what is the size of a golf cart trail. With pegs on both sides of the two way-one lane drive (so no way to pull off for oncoming traffic). Luckily no one else was going on the road or we would have to go backwards a few hundred feet, so that the other person could pass.
There was a wedding party who were VERY loud from the afternoon until late at night, located a few hundred feet away, but loudly amplified. This was not the quiet, country environment we were seeking.
The management staff were quite helpful several times, and two gents in suits came to help with the hob and heating system.
It was worth the money, but it would be better with many more signs guiding travelers to the cabins and with much clearer, written instructions on how to actually get housekeeping to show up, with those who stay more than one night. Night parties should not be near these units.
