"Great hotel "

"First time staying there in years for the price of the room it was good and clean fit for the living situation I found myself in this past weekend. A couple of things... The parking ticket at $25 a day without any security or coverage, notice signs everywhere saying not responsible for damage or stolen items to cars, pretty expensive and not secure when I could have parked across the street for $10 dollars at Bay Street and have coverage. I did feel at check in the front desk person was either stressed or being way too personal. As I was tired and need of rest and quiet, they came in said off the bat no parties, you need fill out all these papers right away and we need a deposit asap. Asked me if I had stayed here before and said it was long time ago before Sonesta, he said in joking matter, yeah all those ones sucked before and you can get out if you have any issue. I know the area in Emeryville can be a little dicey at time, understood some concern but that guy was way too much. Noticed I had received an email about an upgrade showed it to them and he said they already gave it to me without telling me first or offering anything additional. Afterwards was fine, the room was a good clean fit for the 2 nights I was there. Maid service was great for the inbetween the night change over. If needing to stay again in the area I'd probably choose a room at a good price but park at Bay Street."

"Be aware that there is a 19 dollar a day parking fee. The hotel staff are great very helpful and nice. Rooms are clean and updated. Had a very nice time and had no issues"

"First time visitor to this hotel and I was expecting a luxury stay with views and relaxation. The view outside my window was of a wall. There was no view and it was very disappointing. We were charged for the ‘amenities’ of which we didn’t use, as the weather was not great, and swimming lessons were taking place on the Friday when we visited. We only went to the ‘club’ to check out the facilities and have one drink. We spent a lot of money, and dined there also. The drinks and food were great. But very disappointed with the room and lack of a view"

"This hotel was dated, yet clean, friendly, and functional. My son and I needed somewhere to stay before our early flight out of Oakland and this place was perfect. We liked the quiet location by the marina and the fact that we could walk next door for dinner. We slept well and being close to the airport made our travel day far less stressful with a 6am departure. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay again. "

"The staff were very friendly and helpful however the room and its condition had much to be improved on. The room itself was feet from the elevators and shared a wall with it making noise throughout the day and night. Avoid room 500, 600, etc. The bathroom door was a sliding one but never stayed closed, the shower water was always lukewarm warm and the general condition had much to be desired. Just a tough stay in general."
