Casa das Laranjas is in an ideal location, with a bus stop 5mins to central Porto or to Matosinhos, some wonderful beaches, restaurants and shops. The house is spacious, has a wonderful kitchen to cook home made meals, and of course has everything you need for a short or long term stay. "I was expecting, and have had, a far higher standard for the price. I wish I had taken more notice of the number of external photographs against interior shots as the only redeeming feature of this place is the outside area. The house itself is of a very low standard. Everything feels old. Not rustic, not traditional, not authentic, OLD! From the furniture right down to the cutlery, it all has a jumble sale feel you shouldn’t be getting for what is being charged. Something else to watch for in...

"We stayed for a night off-season whilst doing the Camino Portuguese. The hotel seems to be mid-upgrade: the room had clearly had a thorough refit with box-new towels. Other parts of the hotel looked a bit more dated, but it was clean and tidy. One thing we were surprised to see was a 4-lane 10-pin bowling alley - a fun diversion for our evening."
