9/10 Wonderful! (226 reviews)
This was a bizarre, somewhat sad stay. This property has so much potential and I'm sure it was lovely in its heyday but that has long since passed. The gardens are completely overgrown, with grass a foot tall and gone to seed on about half the property. It resembles an abandoned home. It seems that it is simply too much for the current owners to keep up with. There is no longer a restaurant, though we've seen several advertisements saying there is. There is no A/C or even oscillating fans available, we had to sleep with the door open to escape the impressive (notably, abnormally oppressive) heat. This was despite there not being any screens so lots of bugs got in while we slept. The owner was nice but the other employees were odd. There were maybe two other guests while we were there so it was somewhat unsettling and a bit creepy. The views are beautiful, and the rooms were large. The bathrooms resemble a 1980's sanitarium and water pressure is awful. We had mold on our bathroom ceiling. Sadly, unless there is a significant investment I would not at all recommend this hotel.
