I am grateful that someone saved this beautiful home and set it up to be a bed and breakfast. The place is charming. However, it’s not a true Bed and Breakfast as advertised on its official website. There’s no one to greet you, no warm greetings from a host or common gathering place for breakfast with others. Rather, you are given a code to enter the place and your room — and then you’re on your own. Some folks may prefer this — but we were expecting something more traditional.
The place has nice amenities. The bed and bedding was very comfortable and the room was clean. One of the window shades and the soap dispenser didn’t work, however. (We used the shower gel in the shower.) We didn’t feel like calling someone off-site to remedy the situation (It’s not like calling the front desk for easy solutions.). There is a kitchen where you can get coffee, tea. Cereal, and snacks 24/7. As mentioned, however, there is no breakfast in the mansion. You are given a coupon to cross a major street to buy a food item and beverage. I will say that The Breakfast Club breakfast was very very good.
So it’s a beautiful space with a great food place across the street — but it’s not a B&B. Again, I understand the attraction of the no contact hotel rooms to some. We were just expecting something like a more traditional B&B.
