Welch's Cottage is a traditional built stone cottage in the tranquil rural hamlet of Trewalder, 2 miles from the magnificent North Cornish Coast and within easy reach of Bodmin Moor. The fishing village of Port Isaac, the location for the tv series 'Doc Martin' is close by. The popular surfing beach of Polzeath is a 20 minute drive away and also Rock, famous for it's water sports and Daymer bay a popular beach for lazing in the sun, or rock pooling. Our closest surf beach is Trebarwith Strand which has life guards on duty during the summer months. Travelling north a few miles, you will find the village of Tintagel, famous for it's castle and the legend of King Authur. My only comment is the number of huge tractors which were thundering past the house. We didn’t feel safe walking the dog on the narrow lanes due to this although obviously this would be seasonal. The house is comfortable and well equipped and the back garden is a very pretty sun trap.. It is extremely well equipped - we loved the wood burner and lots of sofas in the sitting room, and the kitchen had absolutely everything we needed for a slap up New Year's Eve dinner. The showers are great, the only tiny (really tiny) let down was the size of the towels which were a bit small.
