A visit to the Great Bath makes it easy to imagine Roman life. You won't want to bathe here though - the Roman's lined their pools with lead plates and channeled the water through lead pipes.

The large pool and ground floor are original Roman constructions, but everything above the plinths are more recent recreations. In the fourth and fifth centuries visitors to the Great Bath would have looked up at a 130ft (40m) high vaulted ceiling - likely they largest building they had ever seen.

“Staying here was an absolute delight. Great location 5 min walk to bus stop and supermarket. Beautiful apartment with excellent kitchen, washer dryer (all in one), upstairs toilet and ensuites for both bedrooms downstairs. Comfortable, modern, clean. There were even extra touches with a lovely Xmas tree and decorations in the apartment. Great place to stay for families extra bed available for upstairs lounge room as well. Highly recommend this property! ”

“For older folks traveling from other places carrying heavy luggage, not being able to hold luggage in the room upon early arrival is a pain. Also, if not from Europe cells phones and internet don't work well so not being able to contact proprietors can be a problem. If you are able to contact them there's always an excuse as to why the response was late. A younger person would likely appreciate the flat more. “Very comfortable B&B apartment with sweet Christmas decoration. Have washing machine and drying machine, good for long time journey. Beds are comfortable. 5 mins walk to big supermarket.
