“The hotel reception area is lovely -mcshanes var & restaurant needs a complete overall as very dated and tables, chairs are wobbly and most chairs have split or damaged covering . Service is very slow only staffed by young people who looked stressed at times - food was good when it arrived and plenty of it . Rooms advertised as delux are basic - dirty carpets , old bed frames, pillows are very full but incredibly uncomfortable, woke up with stiff neck , asked for replacements ie soft fud not……

“We ended up staying in Hotel Newport at very short notice. Staff were lovely and although rooms were dated, they were clean. Did not spot the kettle the first night so was disappointed by that as I thought there was none. However, the cupboard that contained the tea/coffee etc was pointed out to me the next day - would have preferred it's location to be more obvious. Cooked breakfast choice was excellent and the food served was good quality. Unexpectedly got to join the town's Nephin Beggers……
