“Great central location though tricky to find as it is in an alley around a corner and half way up hill. Facilities are dated and room fairly small though nicely fitted. Breakfast is in small windowless room next to spacious empty bar area (continental ok, fairly pricy cooked options). Staff quite nice. Busy car park in middle of hotel and you have to walk around vehicles to access the rooms which have outdoor corridors. Price is reasonable for the area which is largely dead at night which may……

“A lovely hotel with an interesting history. Tastefully decorated with fantastic food at a reasonable price. Garden is glorious and unique. Staff very attentive, nothing is too much trouble for them.”

“Best hotel on the island. Outstanding.”

“Great location. Excellent breakfast and dinner options. Very clean, well equiped rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff.”

“We really were impressed by the entire business. Staff , food , gardens , and our comfortable bedroom. The air con especially came in handy. We couldn’t fault the entire experience and would highly recommend it to anyone . Thanks all”

“We had a short stay here, room was lovely and the staff wete great. Couldn't fault it.”

“The room has lovely sea views but the carpet is heavily stained and the decor generally quite tired. The room was also incredibly hot despite being offered a fan by the helpful staff. It is a great hindrance that the windows cannot be opened more than a few inches. For a hotel of this reputation and in this price range, air conditioning should be incorporated throughout. The ground floor area and amenities like the pool are wonderful, as are the friendly staff. The fabric of the hotel (e.g.……

“We had a wonderful stay at the Driftwood Inn. What it makes it exceptional special were the staff Paul and Richard. They were so friendly and welcoming and genuinely seem to enjoy interacting with guests. We enjoyed breakfast every morning which was delicious and had a few drinks in the bar on an evening which was very enjoyable. I highly recommend and would love to return even if it was to drop in to say hi to Paul and Richard - they are a real credit to the hotel and work extra hard to make……

“Good hotel, good service, good food”

“Lovely place just we had a room where their was a dog next door get barking and didn’t get much sleep the staff and the hotel and room was lovely and food was amazing and thank you for our stay”

“We enjoyed our stay at The Imperial Hotel. The hotel is in a lovely position overlooking the sea, The staff are very friendly, and helpful. The food was excellent with very large portions, a little too big for us. There is also a nice little bar for afternoon and evening drinks. The hotel could do with some updating and although I'd say it was generally clean, I don't think a vacuum had been used in our room the whole week.”

“Hotel was in a beautiful position for views. The hill is steep but worth the effort. Food very good and staff very helpful. I would stay here again”

“Lovely quiet room, a little small but fine if you’re travelling light. 20 minute pleasant walk from downtown and easy access to hikes on cliff path. Breakfast was good. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Would choose this hotel again.”

“Great place to stay.! Why don’t you try it?”

“Public areas refurbished to a very high standard, the room we had was quite spacious but a little dated, but its obvious they invest and upgrade on an ongoing basis. The highlight was the location - walkable to everything, and also the food offer. We dined twice - a good value but beautiful 3 course dinner in the conservatory restaurat one evening and then excellent dinner in J Parkers restaurant on the second night. we had fabulous breakfast each morning and also afternoon tea in the……
