great location, staff and food. the taxis at the hotel are a expensive though. under 1 mile to the local shop driver billed 5usd . i asked him if he was certain about the rates but they showed me a laminated tarriff so its set in stone i suppose :)) Although i found a trusted driver externaly who was excellent , good rates too: Jorge cell / whatsapp +505 84583516 email: remisesnicaragua@hotmail.com Spanish speaking but google translate is a friend

This is a large and Cabin in a natural habitat so those who want to stay here typically would have different standards than someone who wanted to stay in a tradition. I do both. For this type of experience I’m really enjoyed the atmosphere and the host and all the wildlife and hiking and peace so I highly enjoyed it and recommend it.

This place is a gem, super chill, great food, amazing staff. It is a bit rustic so you have to be okay with little hot water and no A/C, neither are really needed. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. This will be a staple for future visits…

We escaped to Granada for a romantic getaway for an evening and were searching for a place with colonial charm. La Gran Francia was beautiful and in a great location. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast at their restaurant was amazing and best of all complementary and a la carte. My husband kept asking me to return to the hotel for the rest of our trip in Nicaragua. Would definitely stay there again.

Before booking I read several negative reviews. My experience was much different. I found the staff to be friendly and kind (it sounds like most of the staff was replaced about a week or two before we got there). Food service is slower than food service in the US, but that is typical in Nicaragua and everything was fresh. The bungalows are fantastic and the private beach was incredible. I highly recommend this place.

Would definitley stay again. Very convenient 20 min walk from UCA. Safe area. Walked around each day to grab food, beers and refreshing iced caramel coffee drink at Fritz. I'm a solo female traveler and I never felt unsafe.
The reception guy was so knowledgeable about the area, managua and Nicaragua history. He is a great resource! He also set up a shuttle for me to Mayasa on very short notice. He is great!
They also have shuttles to airport. Oh and the breakfast was freshly cooked eggs,...
