“It was short walk from the train station and like 50 minutes from London. The restaurant in the hotel is pretty good and the bus to colchester city center is pretty good. The hotel was clean and check out was pretty easy as well.”

The spa looks amazing and at a high standard even though I haven't had the pleasure of a treatment whilst visiting! Gym looked really good aswel with modern equipment! Pool is nice and changing facilities okay! Room smelt like breath! Floor needed vacuuming as had food and hair all over itCarpet was dirty and had stains and holes……

“AVOID THIS HOTEL — unless you’re looking for a hotel full of dogs! My partner and I stayed here for two nights for a business trip and unfortunately had a terrible experience. Our room was not clean at all. There was dog hair, marks and stains on the carpet, dirty facilities, a water jug that hadn’t been cleaned properly, a kettle full of limescale and marks on the bedding. For the price of a hotel stay (£180 per night) I expect a basic standard of cleanliness and this simply wasn’t met. The……

“I paid full board including the evening meals as a birthday treat for my wife, which was quite a bit extra, but at the end of our stay they charged me again for dinners. The receptionist said that becouse I had not booked directly through them I was not entitled to do this, which ment paying twice for the meals, and that I was misinformed by the waitress who had said that the meals would be deducted from my final bill. The staff where very nice but didn't seem to know much about this situation……

“I think a lot of people has reviewed on this. But I can only said air conditioning system issue need to be fix. Otherwise it is hard for other customer wants to stay. It is summer time and the air conditioning system not work. All you got is a fan will only have little help. Can you imagine stay in the room with 27C? And there is not compensation. Charging almost 100 pound per night, and it is the sleep environment we got.”

We had city view rooms and they were nicer than we expected, as there was a field and partial sea view anyway.
