Such a cozy, well situated Cottage in the mountains. Over 1 acre of level property, only a gentle grass slope along the edge of a crystal clear river that flows from the headwaters of Mountaintown. Over 200 feet of river frontage on this property. Fishing was excellent, the nights by the fire pit, adjacent to the river, is true therapy. The covered porch and swing was great for the morning sunrise. The inside of the cottage was clean and well stocked. Nice washer / dryer, stove, microwave and refrigerator. The beds were very comfortable. Also, it doesn’t hurt that you can open the bedroom window, and relax to the sound of the river rapids. As far as convenience, it’s perfect. You are on a gravel road, along a river in the mountains. However, you can be in town within 10 minutes, enjoying amazing food from many local independent restaurants. Also, some of the best wineries in North Georgia. There are many forest service hiking trails, off road / ATV trails, Carter’s Lake, Fort Mountain State park and Amicalola Falls, just to name a few. We didn’t get to all of these destinations during this stay. However, we will be back soon to further explore the area. The host (Ashley) was amazing and very efficient. We really didn’t need anything, aside of some extra firewood. It was delivered within the hour. If you want fancy and modern, keep looking. If you want a quiet getaway nestled within a stunning piece of natural beauty, book it!
