--OUTSIDE--
The locals have called the Fawn River cabin "the best kept secret in Ellijay!" There is good reason: the privacy and location are divine, yet only 10 minutes to downtown Ellijay's award-winning shops and eateries. But the winning view is the secret here - this is one of the widest sections of the Coosawattee (over 200 feet wide!), and the river is so crystal clear you can spot trout from the deck.

Unplug and unwind on the deck with a glass of wine or cup of coffee, enjoy the view and ever-present sound of rushing water. A few things you’ll love about the outdoor living space:
- Smokeless fire pit (Solo Stove)
- Wildlife viewing. Spot deer, blue heron, hawks, fish, or (on rare occasions) a bear!

One of the first things you notice when walking in is that you can remain immersed in nature within the walls of the home. You can watch the water from every room or even open windows and doors to bring the sound of rushing water into the space. This is a very private location where green trees and blue water are the main thing you see from each window.

--RESORT--
You’ll be staying at Coosawattee River Resort, a gated 5,500+ acre mountain and river community. The resort features several amenities including: three pools (including heated indoor pool & kiddie pool), game room, weight & exercise room, 18-hole mini golf, multiple playgrounds and riverside parks, fenced dog park, stocked fishing pond, tennis court, pickleball, basketball hoops, and rentable event space. To gain access to the amenities, guests must pick up an amenities card from the resort (limit: 8 guests).

You will enjoy the peace of mind of being in a gated community while being only a convenient 1-mile drive to the Ellington gate.

Your cabin is nestled in a private riverside location while still only 10 minutes to downtown Ellijay - a small town with big adventures. Ellijay is the Apple Capital and Mountain Bike Capital of Georgia, and within a prominent section of wine country that features eight wineries. Downtown Ellijay provides everything you desire in a quaint mountain town including delicious restaurants and taverns with live music, fantastic shopping, and memorable festivals year-round. Several outdoor adventure options are within reach including hiking, horseback riding, tubing, white-water rafting, boating, ziplining, biking, fishing, go-karting, and golfing.

Quiet place with great river views
We enjoyed our stay over Easter weekend. The views of the river were lovely, but best of all from each room we could open our windows at night and fall asleep to the sound of the river. The resort amenities had a lot to offer to entertain our 11 year olds - minigolf, swimming, pickleball, arcade! My only complaint was that the resort was further away than we were expecting and required a 20 min drive due to winding nature of the roads so we ended up using it a little less than we might otherwise have.

PERFECT GETAWAY!
We definitely recommend this cabin for your next R&R destination! The cabin, location and owner and internet were excellent!! Adding our favorite streaming channel, no problem! My wife and I have stayed in many rental properties over the years but never next to a river. It was AMAZING! The sound of the river, all of the deer visitors as well as the geese floating downstreem with the sun sparkling on the water were a few of the daily highlights! I had no idea I would have so much fun building fires in both the wood stove inside the cabin and the firepit on the deck! Needless to say, the days flew by too fast!

Quick Jaunt by the River
My mom and I planned a last minute road trip with a friend of hers, and I was able to book this amazing stay just 24 hours in advance…maybe 24 hours. The host stayed in constant contact with me. Horrible holiday traffic led to a late arrival whereupon we discovered something was of with the heat because it was way to warm. I reached out, and he had it fixed in minutes. I couldn’t have asked for a better host. We had a great stay!

We absolutely loved our stay! The property and the view are absolutely beautiful and looks exactly as pictured! We sat and watched deer cross the river every night. Mac was phenomenal at communicating from the time I booked the trip all the way to check out. I would definitely recommend this cabin to anyone staying in the area. This house is perfectly cozy, perfectly decorated, and perfectly located. The outside offers so many seating options. The inside is the perfect setting to unwind as well. And the beds...! Yes, please to a great night's sleep. Know many people want to escape reality in the mountains, but the high tech support was extremely appreciated! The brilliance is in the small touches and Fawn River nails perfection in all categories, from the welcome basket and plentiful communication to the shampoo, conditioner and body wash provided. Loved it all.

Fawn River is a gem
Our family of four had everything we needed at this cozy river house. The highlights were drinking our coffee in the morning on the bottom riverside deck and then coming back from our daytime adventures in Blue Ridge, Ellijay and Blairsville to have a glass of wine at the house each evening on the top deck with the string lights glowing and deer frolicking in the river below. A few deer even came to say hello next to the deck. Highly recommend this cozy gem!

Excellent and relaxing cabin in a forest and by a running river. We enjoyed it very much. Everything was very well organized, and the booklet left (and given electronically) on local scene was invaluable. Only two slight negatives - some areas of the home were a bit dusty, like maybe they were missed in cleaning. And the upstairs bathroom sink drains extremely slowly. But otherwise everything was lovely and we enjoyed it completely.

The property is older but fit our price and needs for a family get away. The beds were the most comfortable we have ever had! The extra amenities made our stay easier with soaps. Laundry, detergent, and shampoo. Mac is an excellent communicator and replied quickly with questions.

Beautiful resort property
The cabin is cute, well kept and in a beautiful resort with lots of deer roaming the property. The sound of the river is so relaxing and you can launch and get back to it by walking a short distance away from the cabin. My family really enjoyed our time here and would recommend it to anyone looking to stay in the area.

Amazing view. Watched deer in and across the river from the deck all week. We loved the deck. We counted 74 steps down to the river but it was not bad. We dropped in the river from the house and floated down in our tubes to our car that we had left as the fife bridge most days, for some great tubing. The road in is pretty easy and the first time down the driveway will seem a little steep, but it’s not any real trouble. No four wheel drive needed. We highly recommend this place. We did not need to communicate with the property manager but don’t want to rate them down, just an fyi.

Extremely happy with the cabin, location and views. Ages 5 to 60 rate this cabin 10 out of 10. The owners were easy to work with and quick response to any questions. Cabin was a win win for all! Plus my husband was only 5 minutes from Pickleball!! 😉 enough said! Plan to rent again.

Dreamy cabin with all indulgences
This cabin was splendid. So perfect that we are planning to fly 10h from São Paulo just to be there again once more in springtime. We arrived at the house at night after a long road trip to Ellijay. Following KC's instructions, we finally arrived at the address, trying to anticipate what could be. We were so tired, but the waters at the river were strong, singing, and they said hello to us in the darkness. All the relaxation and convenience of a luxury hotel we could find there: the smell of wood, an oversized cozy couch for family movies with fuzzy blankets, a fully equipped kitchen to prepare the meals, three bedrooms with a view to the river, one of them with a cute bunk bed for our kids, two bathrooms - the one on top was very spacious, the one on the ground floor has the perfect hot shower for after our daily activities. The cabin is flawlessly decorated with simplicity, yet sophistication and comfort. The smallest details and amenities show how much the owners care. The vintage stove in the middle of the living room warmed us up in a big snuggle, but there were fans for the hot summer days too in most rooms. On the next morning, perfect blue skies from our window, but it was hard to leave our beds with fluffy pillows, smooth bed linen, and the light but warm comforter. We finally got up, prepared our breakfast with what we bought in the supermarket (10-min from the cabin), and went down the long stairs to the riverside, where we could see 4 or 5 deers drinking water on the other side. We sat on the wooden chairs, we talked, we told stories, we read, we carved walking sticks, we saw ducks, birds, and otters, we laughed. After lunch, we decided to explore the condo, and, after just a few minutes of walking, we reached a small playground and picnic tables, where we got to play and even have a snack. The sun set, it got a bit chilly, so we went back to the cabin… Warm soup and bread, tea, and, for the kids, their tiny hands enjoying hot cocoa in large cups. We then went out to eat marshmallows at the fire pit, and it was magical, all the stars piercing the heavy dark cloth of the night. Kids didn’t want to go to bed and didn’t want to miss anything, but they were so tired and happy they finally gave in. I could still hear their giggling from our room. Days went by slowly but so fast at the same time, and, just by writing this testimonial and reflecting about our days there, my eyes grow heavy, dreamy, and eager to return!

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Our host was very responsive and prompt with any issues we had. He even helped us with directions to the cabin as we arrived after dark and had difficulty. However, it was easy to locate after that. The house was cozy and comfortable with everything you could need. He even left a book with recommendations of restaurants and things to do.
