Acceptable place to sleep. Close to Del Lago. Internet was practically non existent and ATT phone service was poor. Remodeling. Would not stay again

Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing overall. The one highlight was the beautiful walking path behind the hotel along Seneca Lake, which provided great views and was the best part of the property. Beyond that, there were several issues. The elevators were extremely slow, and on multiple occasions we chose to take the stairs. Upon check-in, the safe in our room was not functioning. We reported the issue and requested a replacement, but despite being told it would be addressed, no replacement or repair was ever provided during our stay. The air conditioner was extremely loud when running. While the hotel advertises itself as pet-friendly, at approximately 6:00 a.m. we were woken by a loud barking dog. The property also appears to need some maintenance and attention to detail. The ceiling tiles in the lobby were noticeably yellowed and should be replaced. The room windows looking out to the lake were dirty and covered with cobwebs. While the lakeside walkway was enjoyable, the lack of upkeep, unresolved maintenance issues, and early-morning noise left us disappointed.

The facility is clean and well maintained, plenty of parking and well located. I was given a handicap room and it is was very dark with false windows and frosted glass and dim light behind the glass. There was 1 lamp and bed lights, but that was not sufficient to provide adequate light for this room. The TV remote did not work, they replaced it but then the TV would not turn off, it had to be unplugged. The bathroom was awkward, no vanity and the toilet paper roll would not stay in the holder. The bed was comfortable, I stayed 1 night and it was OK. My room allocation was the only problem, it was not relaxing or comfortable, other rooms may be better.

Travel to Ithaca a couple times a year and usually stay in one of the chain hotels in the city. But this most recent trip, I chose this lovely inn, as all of the usual spots were either booked or were priced out of my range for the level of accommodations. And my wife and I enjoyed our time very much.. Comfortable and charming. Definitely recommend it and hope to return. The Dempsey Suite was a great choice.
