Clean, spacious room. If I were to renovate I'd make the shower a little bigger by extending it into the bathroom a little, but thats just me.

I enjoyed the staff. They were friendly and made us feel welcomed and comfortable. We all liked our rooms - after some clarification of how the lights worked! The breakfast was good and the coffee was great! All in all very glad. We stayed there. Easy to walk to some places.

Our flight was delayed in Edinburgh and I knew that we would be arriving at the property after midnight. I phoned and messaged the property repeatedly to ask whether I would still be able to collect our key if we arrived in the middle of the night. No answer. Expedia also phoned repeatedly on our behalf. No answer. Their website said they had a 24 hour reception desk but nobody responded.
When we arrived at 1:30 am, the desk was empty and dark. We rang the bell repeatedly for a few minutes and thought we would have to find another hotel. Just as we were about to leave, a man emerged from somewhere (looked like had been sleeping) and let us in. We said we had been repeatedly messaging about our later arrival and he said he thought he had seen our message. Why then didn’t he answer? We finally got a message from the property the next morning that we can indeed arrive late and we would be able to collect our key. 😒

"Staff was neither friendly nor helpful. They were a bit short tempered and I was really nervous about talking to them about anything. People at the bar didn’t even ask what we wanted even after being sat there for 10 min and the bar wasn’t even busy. Room wasn’t spacious and they didn’t do the room ..."
