Day 1-2: Tallinn Airport is around a 10-minute drive from Estonia’s World Heritage capital, Tallinn. The city is easy to explore on foot and there’s plenty to see. As you enter the Old Town, don’t forget to admire Viru Gate. Built in the 14th century, this series of gates is one of Tallinn’s most iconic symbols.
Day 3-4: Rent a car and head southeast to Tartu. Less than a three-hour drive away, this leafy, old university town is considered the spiritual heart of Estonia. Take a selfie with your sweetheart at the Kissing Students Fountain then another at the famous sculptures of Oscar Wilde and Eduard Vilde.
Day 5-6: Known for its 19th century timber villas, spas and sandy beaches, the picturesque resort city of Parnu is the perfect place to finish your trip. After you’ve indulged in a beauty treatment, stroll along the winding promenade at Parnu Beach or enjoy a picnic in the nearby gardens of Parnu Rannapark.
On February 24 each year at sunrise, thousands of citizens congregate at the park next to Tallinn’s Toompea Castle to celebrate Estonian Independence Day. Join them for the flag-raising ceremony and singing of the national anthem.
