The location is great, being close to a few larger towns like Driffield and Pocklington, but also close to some amazing walking including a stretch of the Yorkshire Wolds Way. "We stayed for 3 nights and found our stay to be excellent. The setting is beside the golf course and the grounds are immaculate. Service at the guest house could not be faulted, the breakfast, included in the price, was plentiful and served to your table. Our room was quite small but well provided and tastefully decorated. The ensuite bathroom had a great walk-in shower. My wife has some mobility issues and our only concern was the steepness of the stairs and the narrow tread. All the staff were very friendly and helpful with great local knowledge for dining options. The indoor pool looked very inviting and could be booked for private use. A very enjoyable stay was had."

"Beautiful property with excellent hosts. John and Katy greeted us in person and even allowed us to check in slightly earlier. Immaculate accomodation with a very personal touch, a welcome hamper & even a basket of treats for out dog and a fenced area for the dog too. Thoroughly recommend, a great base for exploring the local area."
"We love staying at Bar Lodge, it’s comfortable, cosy and has everything you need for a peaceful stay. Easy parking right outside the door. The area has lots of great places to visit. Hopefully we will be back there soon."
