Mixed Experience – Good Staff, but Several Frustrations
Our stay was a mix of positives and negatives. On arrival, Expedia had incorrectly listed our children as infants, so we were asked to pay ~£700 extra despite booking a 2-bedroom family room for two kids - very frustrating.
We also had to carry our own luggage to the room.
Food was tasty but repetitive; breakfast, lunch, and dinner were mostly the same and themed restaurants were just minor variations of the buffet.
No iron in the room (rentable externally for £20/week) and WiFi is free for only 4 devices. Never came across this in a hotel before, especially a Riu
Staff were mostly friendly, especially the entertainment team, but towel staff could be more welcoming. Drinks were good quality, but tables and sunbeds weren’t cleared, guests are expected to dispose of their own glasses and plates.
Overall, the hotel has good staff and basic comforts, but repetitive food and minor service shortcomings made our stay less enjoyable than expected.
