We channeled "Laugh In" meets "Juliet of the Spirits" for this 1970s Hampton escape: groovy period decor, comfortable beds with new mattresses and cotton sheets, a backyard and side porch, all blocks from Buckroe Beach. Pet friendly and premium wifi package.

This home is 6 miles from the Hampton Coliseum, 15 minutes to Newport News, 30 minutes Yorktown/Busch Gardens and 35 minutes outside Williamsburg.
Ocean View Beach 10 minutes and Virginia Beach Ocean front 30 minutes.

This is an older, un-updated home, and the bathroom and kitchen are kept clean, but are time worn. The kitchen does not have a dishwasher or ice maker (there is a counter top one), etc, all typical for a home built in 1969. Though we treat for pests, it's the beach, so you might see a Palmetto bug.

Side porch off the kitchen for sitting or dining outside.

There is a fenced backyard, but escape artist dogs could find a spot to get out, so all dogs should be attended or leashed when outside.

Buckroe Beach House
Our stay was wonderful. Home had everything needed and lots of added perks like snacks and toiletries some of us might have forgotten! Very thoughtful. Great yard for our dog. Short walk to the beach/park great for the puppy and the granddaughter. Despite the rainy weekend we made the most of our beach time. Many great restaurants close by. Great time!!

Perfect weekend getaway
The house is spacious and well decorated with a fenced in backyard. What sets this stay apart is the impeccable host - we were delighted by the special touches, the restaurant recommendations, and the timely communication. We’ll definitely be back!

Weekend getaway
We loved staying here! It was a very enjoyable weekend for our family. It was very close to the beach and any stores we needed to visit. It had so many extras inside the house, our favorite was the board games. My children actually put down their electronics and played games! We will definitely stay here if we return to the area! There was great communication with the owner when I had any questions and she gave great suggestions of things to do and places to eat. Upon her suggestion we went to the Virginia Air and Space Museum and my children loved it.

Super fun decor, great location, wonderful stay!!
This house was absolutely perfect for our group we had 6 adults in our group to go to the taco festival the host was very great with answering questions we had very promptly and also let us know how far away we would be from the taco fest in case we wanted to be closer before booking the house, everything was very clean, the decor was fun everyone loved it, all of the beds were comfortable there is a nice large table in the dinning room where we were all able to sit down and play cards together after a long day, the hot water and shower pressure was great, all the sheets and linens you could need are there and it was such a short walk to Buckroe beach. We highly recommend and will definitely book again in the future if we are in need of somewhere to stay in this area.

Quaint Little House
We enjoyed our stay at this house and Buckroe Beach. Although the house has a unique decor style, the house was very clean and did not have a bad smell. We felt very comfortable at the house. The beds are very comfortable. The host communicated with us in a timely manner when we had questions. I felt like this was a great place to have a family vacation if you are looking for a calm beach atmosphere. The house was a short walk to the beach and a very short drive to the beach. The beach is a great place for kids. The waves are very mild throughout the day which made me feel safe with the kids playing in the water. There are bigger waves in the evening for boggie boarding. The beach is very clean with lifeguards on duty much of the day. The location of the house is central to many touristy things to do throughout the week.

Old but workable
This property is walking distance to Buckroe beach which is nice and the hostess made the check in process simple. The pictures are accurate, the decor is quite interesting. However we did not feel that the area is safe and we could hear gunshots almost everynight, we constantly found trash left behind in the front yard from the homeless people that liked to hang out by the church. There is no form of security for the house. The house is completely outdated and needs to be totally remodeled. The furniture is old and the house had a bad odor almost like something had died in the walls. The air conditioning system was incabable of keeping the house cool when it was above 80 degrees outside. If you are looking for a affordable house close to the beach for a short stay it works. I
