“Super lovely stay! Everything was amazing and the breakfast was delicious”

“Unfortunately, we were a little disappointed with the condition of Elk Forge. Many years ago in the early 2010s, the facility was beautiful and now it just seems run down. We did not look for any reviews because we had assumed it was still the same. It seems maybe new owners have taken over the property and starting from scratch to get it up and running. We had a nice evening, slept well in the Philadelphia room, but the facility is old, the breakfast was not great. It's definitely not what……

“Really enjoyed my solo visit. Spent several hours at the restaurant next door enjoying gourmet food. The staff is very attentive. Loved the Thomas Jefferson room. Wish it had been chillier so I could enjoy the fireplace. I’ll need to come back again in the winter. The bathroom as a whole was actually bigger than I expected after reading the reviews. “The grounds of the property are beautiful….lots of pretty flowers and greenery. The host and hostess were very friendly and welcoming. The place is a converted barn from 65 years ago, therefore, the bathrooms were on the smaller side (we stayed in Rowland’s room, which is one of the smaller rooms and was the owner's bedroom as a child) and I’m assuming most of the other bathrooms were small but certainly adequate. Shower was nice size with rain shower head and handheld shower. The decorating……

“Room was fine, but small and cramped. Bed not so comfy. Soundproofing doesn’t exist…could hear everything. Couldn’t get TV to work. Other than those details, room was clean and location was good.”
