Fantastic for the ferry and train stations. Immaculately clean. Had a wonderful sleep. Was lovely to have breakfast in guest lounge room. This would easily win Four In A Bed as best guest house.
Compact room, no chair, fine for overnight stays. Comfortable bed. Convenient lounge area for coffee and snacks. Good location for ferry. Excellent information provided.
I loved my stay at The Hut. The room was small but efficient and had everything needed. I had great sleep in the comfortable bed and appreciated the coffee and snacks provided. Everything you need is close by and within walking distance - food, train station , town centre. Owners provided good instructions to access property and room and were very responsive when I had a question.
Owners and staff are very courteous, professional, thoughtful, and accommodating. Property is cute and idyllic. We really liked that they have a lounge with some refreshments open to customers for part of the day and night, because there isn’t much that is open in Holyhead after 5 or 6 pm other than some takeout restaurants and a small bar or 2. We’d definitely return.
Can't fault the property, it was comfortable and clean, dog friendly including dog treats in the lounge.
I hadn't read the information on location fully as didn't realise this was not far from the T5 ferry port, so ideal for anyone travelling on the ferry, but if you're not used to traffic noise you ay want to take earplugs to help you drop off in the very comfy bed.
The hosts were really good at communicating the check-in details. Room was clean and cosy. I appreciated having some nicer tea (Cornish Tea- similar strength to Yorkshire Tea) in the refreshment tray. The lack of on-site catering isn't a problem as there are plenty of options in Holyhead within a 15 min walk. I was also able to walk the Coast Path easily from the accommodation.
The Hut Sea Front Inn has a very convenient location. It is close to the Ferry Terminal and a short walk to Newry Beach as well as the Maritime Museum. There are also a number of good restaurants nearby. The Rueben makes a fabulous Reuben bagel & very good coffee. If you do take-out the Sea Hut has a common lounge area, complete with dishware, that opens at 6 pm. The common lounge is very nicely set up as a relaxing place where people can eat or sit & read. There are plenty of books to choose from.
Right next door is a lovely pub, where we enjoyed a pint. Sadly, we had just missed the live music.
Our twin bed room was cozy, like a berth on a boat. The bathroom was narrow. The shower was great, plenty of water pressure.
fantastic and charming place! Be prepared to walk up the steps on the inside but it's very delightful once you're in. The bed is super comfy and the shower was brilliant and the view is amazing. East walk to the station, ferry port, and coastal walk. Lots of interesting books to read. If you make sure the windows are totally shut the road noise will be less noticeable. Delightful spot and felt very historical with real pride of ownership. Thank you, Jason and Howard!!
The room was small but that was expected and was adequate for my stay. Check in was easy as they sent directions and you retrieved your keys from a lock box. The house keepers were sweet and while they don’t provide breakfast they have an area to eat where you can have drinks and relax. My two nights in Holyhead were just for some rest and relaxation before finishing up in Dublin and heading home. The location was easy to walk to from the port. There are restaurants and grocery stores near by and a few things were within walking distance like the cinema, the beach and the maritime museum.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Very cute property. However, the photo I saw of the room didn’t show that the bathroom comes out into the bedroom and takes up a lot of space. The bathroom was also smaller and lower than expected. My partner is 6’3 and knocked his head. Not to the fault of the property but it didn’t work for what we needed. Better suited for individuals not couples.
Easy access to check in. Clear directions.
We chose Holyhead because it’s close to South Stack (incredible scenery, and lots of birds - and baby birds!), and Newborough (we didn’t end up going there, but it sounds beautiful). Holyhead itself is a bit run down, and not a tourist destination, more of a pass-through place according to the locals. But The Hut was close to Market Street with pubs, restaurants and grocery stores, and an easy walk from the train station. We managed to get a taxi to South Stack (there aren’t a lot of them), but not back to The Hut, so we walked the 3-4 miles back, but of course that’s not for everyone.
Our room was nice - cozy bedroom, comfortable bed, plenty of outlets (but none in the bathroom, we’re convinced this is a UK thing), spacious bathroom, plenty of hot water. Satellite TV was iffy, WiFi was good, no lift so be prepared to carry your bags up a flight or two. No food on-site, but a lounge on the first floor where you can hang out and/or eat your “takeaway”.
Self check-in worked well, and allowed us to check-in very late (our train didn’t arrive until after midnight). All in all, a satisfactory experience.
The stay was great.
Guest house was ideal for what we wanted. Ideally situated for ferry, train and surrounding areas.
Although the host did not live on site he called in and was very friendly and informative.
The room was small but it was classed as a cabin, no issues with it at all as we really only used it as a base.
Very clean and comfortable.
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay
More than adequate for our overnight stay. Loved the nautical theme. Self check in was straight forward. Complimentary breakfast was more than expected along with coffee/tea facilities in the room. Definitely recommend. Would have liked a room with a sea view but it was only a short walk to see the sun set.
