I put alot of planning into my 2 weeks along the Oregon Coast. Being well rested and getting an early start to my day were priorities. Putting us out day before learning there is no breakfast was disappointing. I booked based on the b& b idea. The room was not comfortable, no seating except a bench that was placed under tv..not facing tv. I was looking forward to the bed and breakfast feel.. this failed in all levels. I was never greeted upon arival or anytime since I arrived. I tried co tacti g owner night i arrived and next morning..no response.. There are beatiful places to stay in Hood River..look for them!
Everything very superior!!! My wife and I will be back next year for our 50th birthday year, we’ll try one of the other rooms. Thank you so very much!!
Inn at the Gorge is located in a historic building. The room was cute, eclectic art decor. The bed and pillows were so comfortable. Our hostess was amazing, she greeted us when we arrived, had an endless supply of chocolate chip cookies available in the lobby, greeted us cheerfully in the morning. The breakfast was amazing and filling. The only down side to our room (we stayed in the Gorge Room) was that the bathroom was separate from our room- we had to cross the dining area to reach it. Many restaurants within 1 mile of the property
Walkable distance to downtown Hood River which was lovely. Good communication from hosts via text message and check in was an easy process with very clear instructions.
The carpets throughout the home were dirty and stained with rugs that appeared old and worn. Most furniture in the communal space were covered with various blankets and tablecloths that did not appear clean. Area outside of the garden suite was cluttered with home supplies and miscellaneous items that were covered in dust.

Breakfast was wonderful. Virginia was very professional and polite. The room that we were given was old, and not updated. We slept on a Murphy bed which was very uncomfortable. The bathroom was through the dining room. About 30 feet away. The place was rated 4 and 1/2 stars at trip advisor. We are still wondering how they got that rating.
This is a beautiful home with lovely gardens and rooms. We enjoyed our stay. It was an drive to the business district, breweries and down to the river. The Secret Room was spacious, the bed was comfortable and the attached bathroom had plenty of counter space. There is a refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker in the room. The common room and porch are very pleasant, and the owners provided access to plenty of guide books for hikes, flower identification, kids activities, games, and lots of printed information to help enjoy the area. They had just transitioned away from serving a full breakfast when we stayed. Instead, they provided slices of cake and fruit for breakfast. (The addition of plain or lightly sweetened yogurts with nuts for protein might have been nice). While this was a surprise to us, there were benefits to not feeling like we needed to wait around for the breakfast that used to be served at 8 am. We enjoyed an earlier breakfast at one of their recommended places (Bette's- open at 5:30), which allowed us more time to explore our favorite hike of the trip -- the Memaloose hills wildflowers -- before the trail started to get crowded.
Great communication and cute house. Pretty clean, but not perfect. It was more like a hostel than hotel. It was fine, but not overly impressive. I bit of a steep walk to downtown. Overall, it was fine.
Beautiful, unique and SO quiet. What a little out of the way gem. Staff/Team was thorough, attentive and easy to work with. Highly recommend this unique and beautiful Inn!
The Inn was just what we needed. Walking distance to town, amazing breakfast and very friendly staff. We were greeted by 2 adorable kittens on the front porch and soon after the Owner and his pup. Wish we lived closer so we could visit again soon.
