“Room historic and atmospheric; staff make the place ; each one without exception was friendly and me feel right at home ”

“Bed was soft and mattress tilting me floorward. Shower tray was blocked, cutting short my shower. The bathroom sink was the size of a dentist's spit basin making it impossible to shave. Lights in the communal corridor didn't switch on with any of the switches so be sure to have a torch with you to safely stay this hotel. No bedside table or power socket anywhere near the bedside. I wouldn't stay here again.”

The free breakfast offered in the morning was great quality, with a wide range of choices. The hotel is situated above an amazing pub, which has a amazing beer garden. “The staff were very pleasant and helpful. Our room was 1st rate - having been upgraded to an executive room! The general feelfid not come over as a 4* establishment eg Staff attire was very casual and at times slovenly.”

“Good basic accommodation to rear of pub. Convenient for food and helpful access from parking along road to rear. Some basics missing for self catering breakfast even if only with a microwave and toaster - such as tea towel, washing up brush”

“Parking was fine as the car park was almost empty, restaurant was closed and not likely to open any time soon. Bar was open but it only served bottled beer and it was £5 a bottle. Room and en suite was ok but a bit unloved. I had to go out to eat which was a pain as I really didn’t know the area and I definitely wouldn’t go back. ”
