"Some things to consider: Bed cubicles are cozy and private. Building is quiet. Only one bathroom (one shower, one toilet, two sinks) for men. Double that for women, as they are allowed to use the "men" bathroom also. Staff did not speak much English. About 15 minutes walk to Hakata, the closest subway/train station. Payment at the hostel is cash only. Check in required before 8 pm without previous arrangement for late arrival."

I visited Fukuoaka during the corona virus outbreak, and as a person with Asian/Chinese descent I feel like the check-in staff were extremely unfriendly to me. Further, I was booked into the shared dormitory, which I would strongly suggest avoiding because there's around 18 people couped into one room. "The hostel was in a convenient spot for our time in fukuoka. Check-in and checkout were super easy. My only complaint is the bed was very uncomfortable. In general, all of our stays in japan had firmer beda but this bed made it hard to get good sleep. Overall would recommend for location and price but wish the beds were better"

"The space is pretty small for 6-people room, way more smaller. It is like the smaller version of college dormitory. But it's sufficient if you're not in a hurry. Plus, its location is very close to Tenjin station. And considering the price, it's decent enough. The owner/staff (I've only seen one, not sure) of the hotel is responsive and nice. "Guesthouse Wasabi was a perfect stay for Iki! Central location, right by Ashibe port on Iki island. Before arriving we hadn't really planned out how we might travel around Iki and hadn't appreciated that public transport may be quite limited, not to worry though as the owner of Guesthouse Wasabi (Takuya) jumped straight to the rescue having electric bikes or vehicles that you could rent, we opted for some electric bikes and spent one of our best days in Japan cycling across Iki island to Monkey...
