We couldn't have been happier with our experience at the Yehuda Hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The breakfast was excellent and the scenery and the surroundings beautiful. Whilst the hotel is located a little away from the city centre, it is close the the Jerusalem Mall and the Zoo and only 15 minutes by bus to the city centre.

Best part of this hotel was the breakfast and location. Breakfast had a GREAT variety of healthy foods - more traditionally Israeli but it seemed like there were some nice additions to accommodate US travelers such as scrambled eggs and fruit.
Rooms & bathroom are adequate & clean - along the lines of a US Holiday Inn although much more pricey than US hotels. Beds/pillows are comfortable - actually better than typical US hotels; we had 2 twin beds. Fairly spacious w/ good counter space in bathroom.
Location very good - approx. 12-15 min. walk to Old City and 5 min. walk to major shopping/market areas.

The hotel was perfect for our budget. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful with our needs. Wifi is strong and available throughout the hotel. There are numerous places to eat nearby with ethnic and western food selections. The area is very safe but at times very crowded. The markets and shops have just about anything you need and modestly priced. Our room faced the street so it was a bit noisy, especially at night. The TV cable is mostly foreign but CNN and and some news channels can be enjoyed. The free breakfast was good but try to get there early, especially when large crowds of tourists stay the night. We booked our tours with Nirvana, the receptionist at the National Hotel just around the corner. She was wonderful and accommodating. The trip was amazing from the start and we spent all day out walking and exploring. I would recommend staying in Jerusalem when visiting Israel.

My husband and I booked the Alegra for 6 nights and were pleased with our stay. The hotel is charming and well appointed with a beautiful garden and grounds, and rooftop deck. The bed was comfortable, and the rain-shower and soaking tub were a fabulous way to relax after a long day spent touring Old Jerusalem. My one complaint was that the room did not come with an iron. We were able to request one, and I did see that the hotel offers a laundry service, however it would be convenient to have an iron and full-sized board available in each room for those of us who have traveled from overseas. Breakfast was served every morning made from local fresh ingredients, and the chef was very accommodating and offered to make my husband and I breakfast even after 10:30 AM one morning. Our final night there, we had dinner at the hotel. I'm vegetarian and was able to request a plant-based meal when we made our reservations. This place is a hidden oasis with a beautiful view and access to local restaurants, a place nearly untouched by time, however it is a bit of a drive into Jerusalem. We were able to have a taxi called for us daily, but those wishing to be closer to the old city should note that Ein Kerem is anywhere between a 20 minute to 45 minute long taxi ride.

The hotel is pleasant enough and is centrally located. It could really use a make-over in the common areas, especially around the lobby. The rooms have received a much needed updating recently but there is more work to be done.

Not bad. Booked it for the pool. Spoke with the Expedia agent for an hour to do the flight and hotel booking. Turns out the pool is only open 2 months a year! Little outdated, but good enough. Friendly staff. You need to iron in the laundromat! Ok though.
