Beautiful Views, but Condo needs updates

My husband and I just stayed over Memorial Day weekend. We rented this condo for ocean view, and yes the view from Lanai was absolutely gorgeous. We really liked sitting outside. Unfortunately the condo itself, we did not like. The bed was very uncomfortable, hard and we could feel the springs which made our back hurt. The mattress seems to be very old and definitely needs replacing. The the decor was not cozy for us too. Half of the unit was nice island theme which was over powered by red bourgeoisie looking items. We come to the island a lot, and next time will look for a different ocean view condo.

Great Location Great Condo

Our 2nd time at this resort. 1st time in this condo. It was clean, well appointed kitchen, located close to a sand beach, easy walk to town for restaurants, shopping, and pier. Close to other beaches, restaurants, grocery, etc. Met several other travelers & all cordial. On site office staff gave us a map and suggested places to see. Definitely would stay here again. And recommend to friends.

EXCACTLY what we needed...

We LOVED this place, RIGHT on the water - simply everything we hoped for, for the two of us for our 12 day stay, clean and comfortable!! For our meals, we cooked at "home", had everything we needed, walked a little bit for some choices or a little bit further for A LOT of choices in Kona proper - for average active people it's that close for all the shopping and excursions! We enjoyed the pool too - this property is as it IS as viewed in pictures, wifi worked great as well

Perfect base for Ironman World Champioships

We have stayed in the complex before so knew the location was excellent, just a 20min easy walk to the Pier. This Condo, facing directly out to the ocean was amazing. We ate out on the Lani every day. The sea breeze cooled the condo and we only needed the Air conditioner on late in the afternoon. We used the pool and BBQ everyday. We would 100% book this condo again.

Great views from the balcony

Was a nice unit. Bed was comfortable. The views from the balcony were fantastic for viewing the sunsets. It's also relaxing to watch the boats. Pool area was nice and clean as was the grilling area. Kitchen area had plenty of utensils and cooking pans. Washer and dryer worked out nicely. AC unit kept it comfortable when we were in the unit. Basically like having a little apartment away from home. The downtown area was within walking distance as well. Would definitely stay there again.

The place is small, but has a great location, ocean view, and has all necessary to have a good time.

We really enjoy this place! The apartment was cleaned, organized, and had several kitchen appliances to use. They provided us with towels and the basics to start (few toilet paper rolls, hand soap, dish detergent, etc.). Indeed, this was a great option for us, close to restaurants, beaches, and stores. Also, we had a question and the owner responded right away..... that is great customer service! If you are looking for an affordable place with all the basics for your vacation, the comfort , and convenience of a great location, this is the place to be! Gabriela W.

Great location!

Thank you Annie for sharing your wonderful condo with us. My husband and I spent 4 nights of our Big Island vacation at D-32. Some may find the non-Hawaiian decor a bit off-putting (to us oddly charming), but the quality of the furnishings and the cleanliness were superb. The location, just 5-10 minutes on foot to downtown Kailua (and Lava Java for breakfast!), is perfect. We loved being truly oceanfront and on the third floor so we had no one tromping on our ceiling. The bed is quite comfortable, and the kitchen amenities are more than adequate; there's even a rice cooker! We took advantage of the beach supplies in the cabinet on the lanai (beach mats, chairs, styrofoam cooler, among others). My only suggestion would be to add a screen door to the lanai to allow us to enjoy the cool breeze and ocean sounds inside without worrying about insects entering. Thanks again Annie!

A Week In Paradise!

We just spent 9 nights at this wonderful Kona Reef Resort Oceanfront Suite D-32. It truly is "ocean front"! We never did close our sliding door as it is located on the 4th floor so there is no problem with security and you can hear the waves crashing all night long and the cool breeze that flows through the unit is perfect. The photos that are on this web site depict the unit exactly. The California King bed was the main reason we rented this unit and we were not disappointed. It was very comfortable! The kitchen was well stocked and everything was readily available. We walked to the Farmers Market & bought fresh fruit & veggies & grilled out on the BBQs available pool side. The location is absolutely perfect! Every evening we would meet out on our lanai & watch the sun set together. Both the owner & the property manager called us through-out our week, checking on our comfort and well-being. Annie even brought over a brand new juicer so we could have fresh squeezed orange juice every morning! Yes, it truly was a week in paradise!!

Outdated but the view was amazing.

We recently stayed in this condo for 5 days in June. The view from the lanai is absolutely beautiful and the condo was affordable in comparison to others with a similar view. We enjoyed watching the surfers from the lanai and also thought the outdoor mirrors were a nice addition. We loved the location. We were able to walk to restaurants and bars every night. The pool and hot tub were nice as well and the security was very friendly. The entire condo is outdated but it didn't bother us very much and we appreciated that the staff left dish soap, laundry detergent, a sponge, etc. for us to use without having to purchase them. The cons- The bedroom was very warm although using the fans did help. We found that if the A/C in the living room wasn't running all day that the bedroom would be uncomfortably warm at night. The bed itself was not very comfy either and the window is not shut so I found myself waking up several times to people outside of the condo walking with luggage or opening the door next to us. The bathroom was not bad except the vanity lights would warm the bathroom up quite a bit and the bathroom fan did not work. The toilet filled up really high which wasn't really a problem. The living room couch needs to be updated. It feels kind of dirty when sitting on it but other than that we had no issues.

Very unique place. Very good location. The unit is a bit deconditioned.The outdoor grill area is very clean and with multiple gas grills. Overall, the unit is nice for the rental price.

Incredible view

Amazing private lanai with an incredible oceanfront view. Very comfortable condo. Well equipped kitchen and wonderfully decorated. Close to town and an easy walk to great restaurants and shops. Great communication with the management staff, who are very friendly and helpful.

Best lanai!!

Very comfortable condo, easy parking with great communication with owner. Very responsive to questions! Cannot beat the pure beauty of the water, sound of waves and of course the sunsets from the lanai on the upper level!! Enjoyed watching the body surfers with coffee or an acai bowl. We frequently walked to restaurants on Ali'i Drive for an assortment of tasty food. Location really worked for us.

But the AC is only in the main room, the bedroom does not have AC and there is no air flow back there. We set up fans and it was still quite hot in the bedroom. the owners are *very* nice and brought over fans. If you're sensitive to heat, check with the owners to see if the AC has been installed in the back yet!

Great Location & View

What this place has going for it is location and view. It is very close to town, so you don't have to get into a car and drive. The view is amazing and the sounds of waves crashing below your balcony all day were wonderful. They advertize it sleeps 4, however the unit is not large enough for 4 adults. Possibly 2 small children in addition to two adults. The king bed takes up pretty much the entire bedroom and there is nowhere to put your luggage, so we needed the living room area for luggage, etc. The amenities are pretty much the same as most condo units where you can do some basic food preparation. The outdoor grill area is great! They keep it well maintained and very clean. Also, you need a pool key to get to the grills unlike other condos we have stayed at where grills are available to anyone that comes onto the property. We would book this place again given the price and location.
