Charleston Lake Blue Heron

.This is our third successful well rated property. Easy access drive to the door - Ten minutes from the 401. The property is near "The Outlet" - A well known boat launch on the South end of the lake. This property is fully equipped - Apartment style vacation home - All the amenities of a home as it is a year round property. - Wake up to spectacular views from each bedroom - Living Room - Dining area and Kitchen all overview the lake - Full kitchen with all the tools - Large deck - BBQ and easy access to the water just metres from the deck - Ideal for canoe / kayak - Small boat - Great fishing - Hiking - There are three bedrooms and two baths with ensuite off the grand 3rd br ... There are amenities nearby to shop for groceries as well as LCBO. There is an ice cream shop at the end of the lane as well as coffee shop with superb breakfasts . The building was a very large home professionally divided into two totally private suites both with separate entrances at opposite ends of the structure... As guests you have full use of the entire space described, decks and lawns - The dock area is shared . In the past two years we have hosted hundreds of guests booking almost all dates. We attempt to please everyone but that is not always possible as some people forget it is a rural setting not a hotel in a city or tower condo ..Wifi is good but we do not assure office quality and cel reception is good but not all over the property so ask.. Last year we had more people commenting that it is a cottage not a hotel. And some reviews seemed to expect what we cannot and do not offer . . Swimming off the dock suits many but not all so I provide a park pass where there is a superb sand beach . I state this is not a "beer commercial" dive off the dock venue but it certainly is lovely . Guests from around the world are stunned by the view. - No Toddlers 2-5 - Under 2 over 5 are welcome .. The new dock extension 10 x 28 feet has been built and ready for summer

Ok stay for the money
Would have given a better rating if we had not had the basement shower leak all over the floor and the coffee machine break on us the first morning only to be replaced by a 5-cup machine. Just really inconvenient. But the location was great.

A lovely, ideally placed, well equipped, comfortable apartment, everything you need is there and our host Greg a wonderful host leaves plenty of useful information about the area and points of interest. The house is at a wonderful spot with great views of the lake. Each and every room is equipped with everything you need. We loved our Patio. The house is the cleanest one I’ve ever been to with real wood all around the house and everything is so unique and antique about it.

Beautiful Location to Camp
Loved the fact they provided all the amenities necessary ~ right down to towels ~ bedding ~ coffee etc etc ~ all you have to do is bring food ~ That is super nice !!! We just had a little miscommunication on the firewood , but it all worked out . Only thing is ~ on Website he says he lives on the premises ~ very true ~ he lives above on the left side with a birds eye view of everything going on .. personally didn’t like that as there was no privacy when outside ... other than that it is a beauty spot ..

A little bit of paradise location wise.
Beautiful view. Breath taking. A place to really get away from it all. Place was older but clean. The owner lived upstairs in one part of the house but kept to himself. It was like we were alone with the place to our shelves. Going to book again next year and bring my dad. He will love it. Thanks Gregory.

Fun weekend
My family and our friends stayed at this cottage. We had a good time and Greg (owner) was helpful. However, the fridge was not clean, it felt that the cottage needed a good clean all over. Also, broken tiles in one of the bedroom closest Beautiful view, however, we decided not to swim in the water because we were in an area that had a lot of Lilly pads and weeds. Something we were also not aware of is that the owner lives in the cottage, upstairs with separate entrance but we felt uncomfortable. Overall it was a fine experience but not worth the price.

Great Host
Cool property with great master suite with comfortable queen bed/couch/TV/ensuite, with decent beds in other bedrooms. Very well equipped kitchen and both eating areas (inside & out) overlook the lake, as does the large lower deck and fire pit area. Best part was that host is very friendly and helpful. We're fairly new boaters and he's a super experienced one who was happy to provide helpful lessons to speed up our learning curve greatly.

September Getaway
The views of the lake out of the dinning room and living room never get tired. The kitchen is well supplied with everyday items such as salt, pepper, spices, coffee, tea etc. The owner even had eggs, bread, and cream to start you off if you didn't bring breakfast. A bottle of wine was also supplied . It was on the cool side for swimming but the lake has lots of lily pads and lake weed so I'm not sure how the swimming would be. We enjoyed out time visiting near by Thousand Islands taking a cruise to Boldt Castle, a very worthwhile trip. We enjoyed a great fire in the fire pit overlooking the lake. Bring your own wood or buy it locally. The cottage is a work in progress with a few things needing finishing but overall it is very livable.

The view from the deck was outstanding - looking out over a beautiful bay. A great blue heron landed on the dock and spent over an hour preening ... the loons would call to each other - my husband saw the sunrise over the bay and said it was lovely. We were five people and there was room for everyone - two bathrooms.

Gregory was very personable. Told us all about local places to go. He even gave us a bottle of win
It needed cleaned better but it is in the woods so I understand how difficult that is. Little things need completed but overall we loved the place.

Beautiful view
The view is absolutely beautiful from the main living area. The home owner is nice and very welcoming. I would have liked to have known there is a charge for firewood prior to going as I could have brought my own. 2 of the 3 bedrooms are dated and I think some furniture throughout the house could use an update (the couch swallows you up when you sit on it). Overall though it was a great place to gather and enjoy a fire with a beautiful view.

Greg was a great host! Very helpful and available whenever we had any questions!
The property is a nice, hidden away place with a lakefront view and lots of privacy. We enjoyed canoeing on the lake right in front of the cottage. We were six people and the three bedroom unit was the perfect size for us. Will come back!

Great spot with amazing views of the lake. We will be sure to return.
We were a group of 6 just away for a weekend escape. Weather was amazing and the lake was the perfect temperature. The cottage is simple but has everything you need for a family getaway. We rented canoes from the next door house. Very welcoming host who goes out of his way to make you feel at home.
