Marty was an excellent communicator, and the breakfast was excellent. The location, steps away from the wentworth falls trails trailhead, was exceptional.

Really friendly and helpful couple, Lew and Catherine, own a gorgeous manor with incredible views of the blue mountains!
They served a fabulous breakfast. Two cozy nights; would gladly stay again! :-)

We only stayed two days while exploring the Blue Mountains but the Chalet was just as exciting to explore with wall to wall art and charm, even the colorful Rainbow Lorikeet outside entertained us while having breakfast.

We needed a place to stay overnight as we drove from Sydney to Dubbo. We were pleasantly surprised with the Black Gold Motel! The rooms were simple but clean. Water pressure, hot water, linens all very good. But really the exceptional breakfast won us over.

This fully renovated Victorian hotel is a rare gem. The stained glass and intricately cut mouldings are gorgeous. The dining room is outstanding. I could imagine eating in there in the 1800's.
The garden area in front was also lovely. We ate in the restaurant there, and the food and service was excellent. I felt like a queen at this place. The only thing I would change would be the nude artwork above our bed. Be sure to take time for some tea and scones.

Great place to stay if you are visiting Blue Mountains. With car hire we were able to get to activities early before the hoards on buses came in from Sydney. This hotel may not look like much from the outside but rooms are wonderful inside with solid wood everywhere and very well maintained. We especially liked walking short distance into the town to try out various small town dining and entertainment. The couple that owns and rents this take care of everything and care about the place. Was only here for a night, but the location was good and it had every we needed for that time. They had DVD's in the lobby I assume you could borrow, but no DVD players in the rooms. I don't know if we could have borrowed a DVD player as well if we had asked, but that was a cool little bonus I wasn't expecting before checking in.

If you plan on going to the blue Mountains for hiking, Coumba and this hotel are an excellent place to stay. I enjoyed my days there and the staff were very helpful. You can do laundry on the property for coins. It is a nice sizable apartment for this solo traveler.
