I don't usually have high expectations for all inclusives as they are typically overcrowded, have poor food and make weak cocktails. The Hyatt Ziva definitely exceeded my expectations and stood out among all of the others I've been to. The hotel itself is very pretty and well kept. There are four pools: a kid's pool, two main pools (the largest one not heated and the other, closer to the beach is heated) and the adults only pool which is heated. The hotel was almost at capacity as it was during Christmas vacation, however, it never felt crowded. During the day, they set up various food kiosks around the pool where they made tacos, enchiladas, ceviche and grilled meats and fish. This helped make the restaurants less crowded during the day and allowed you to essentially eat wherever and whenever you wanted which is particularly helpful when you are with a large group and with teens who slept late everyday. The service was outstanding!! I was blown away by the staff at the Ziva - they were incredibly accommodating at all times. They all work 6 days per week and all day/night it seems, yet they always had smiles on their faces and did everything to please their guests. They don't have change for large bills so bring smaller bills for tipping. Ate at all restaurants and they were all great (French was least favorite)!
