Very well kept and decorated historic property. Room was comfy, clean, and attractive. Easy accessibility to all areas of hotel with great signage. Staff was extremely cordial and always willing to help. Amenities were many with accessible pool, hot tub. rental bikes on property and two restaurants. Hotel is easily navigated by seniors and class to town plus ferry.

I don’t normally write bad reviews but I really had to share my feelings. I’m disappointed. Very small rooms. You could hear other people next door all night long. I did not feel safe. So many stairs and halls to get to my room. Paid $800 for two nights which wasn’t worth it at all.

This is a beautiful place. My room was spacious, and very clean. The only down fall was they put kids in the room above us and they were up at 6 am and very loud, other then that will definitely go back.

-We stayed in room 101-it was almost unbearable listening to the people staying above us walk around. No sound proofing. -We purchased round trip ferry tix thru the hotel at the dock. On return we could not find them. The hotel told us to go thru the ferry. The ferry said it should have been handled at the hotel. We had to pay for the ferry tix AGAIN. I felt that was a total racket! There’s NO EXCUSE for that one!! We were tired and ready to go home-had no energy left to argue nor try to prove our point that we already paid for roundtrip tix. That experience alone left the worst impression on us.

I recently stayed at the Island House Hotel on Mackinac Island and had a wonderful experience. Although the room was small, it was very nice and impeccably clean, including the hardwood floors. The hotel provided a complimentary $30 gift card that can be used at their restaurants, for a bike rental in front of the hotel, at Starbucks, and their fudge stores. The hotel's location is ideal, just minutes away from the downtown area facing the harbor. Despite the stated check-in time of 4pm in the email, I arrived at 1pm and was able to get my room immediately, which was a pleasant surprise. One of the best parts of my stay was the luggage service through Shepler, the ferry company. My luggage was checked in and delivered directly to the hotel, allowing me to explore the island freely before officially checking in. The same convenience was offered at check-out, with my luggage sent straight to the ferry dock, ready for pick-up when I returned to St. Ignace. Overall, the Island House Hotel provides excellent service and amenities, making for a delightful stay on Mackinac Island.
