Top Maldives Hotel Reviews

Arena Beach Hotel
8/10 Good
"Did really use the pool. "

Sheraton Maldives Full Moon Resort & Spa
6/10 Okay
"The island is smaller than you expect from the pictures and island map and overall it feels outdated. The staff didnt seem very happy, which reflects in the level of service. Im happy we only stayed for three days. Most restaurants have zero ambiance. Only thing top quality and high level of service was the breakfast restaurant female staff (very welcoming) and sea salt restaurant. Quality of food is great in Sea Salt, be sure to book dinner there."

Samann Grand
10/10 Excellent
"This was a great place to stay overnight—close to the airport, convenient location, extremely friendly and helpful staff. "

Unima Grand
10/10 Excellent
"Very convenient location"

OBLU XPERIENCE Ailafushi - All Inclusive with Free Transfers
10/10 Excellent
"Really impressed with quality of property, service from staff and range of good available at buffets. "

Hard Rock Hotel Maldives
4/10 Poor
"First of all, the speedboat transfer fee is daylight robbery. The 10-minute transfer to and from the airport costs USD $90 one-way per person. Keep in mind, it is a small shared speedboat — worse than the transfer I used to go to Maafushi Island, which took 45 minutes and cost only USD $25 one-way / person.
This transfer fee was not mentioned beforehand and was not transparent. Therefore, I am very dissatisfied with such outrageous charges.
Secondly, the water sports charges were outrageous. Paragliding costs USD $290, while it was only USD $60 in Maafushi Island — go figure.
I felt like I was being taken advantage of by this hotel.
Thirdly, some of the staff are not professionally trained (some reception staff, the man in charge of taking buggy transfer etc...), and their service was substandard. I received better service at Arena Beach Hotel in Maafushi Island.
Overall, it was totally not worth it, and I regret staying at this hotel. If I had known earlier, I would have booked a hotel with a seaplane transfer. Although it might cost double for the transfer, at least I would have had the chance to see the beautiful Maldives from the air and with much longer flight time and enjoying the airport facility.
Please think twice and do more research before choosing a private hotel.
ps. I have much to share and if the hotel manager read this review and would like to know more the area to improve especially the staff, do reach out to me and I can share in details."

Marukab Plaza
10/10 Excellent
"Spent 1 night here before joining a tour, and it was perfect. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly. Breakfast was amazing. They also offer complimentary airport pickup/drop off which was very convenient. I would happily stay here again! "

Barcelo Nasandhura Male
10/10 Excellent
"Great hotel with flexible staff who helped with our chaotic situation with cancelled flights. Got late check out and free transfer to airport for late evening flight"

Kandima Maldives
2/10 Terrible
"I booked private villa with a private pool, beach side. Instead, I was put in villa right next to a big construction site. I was woken every day at 8:00 AM by clanging, banging and all the noises a construction site make. I wanted to enjoy peace in my private garden and listen to sound of ocean and nature, instead I got zero peace and heard only construction work, both near pool and near beach. At time of booking or arrival, there was no mention of construction work.
Instead of destressing on vacation, I got super stressed. Asked for a new villa, was told they are fully booked until I leave. After contacting Expedia I was given a new villa for last day only.
I asked hotel for compensation, but they have refused to take accountability for this situation, which I find incredible and not at the industry standard of a 5* resort.
