Noise conductor

Posted Jun 28, 2017
Pros: Room comfort and cleanliness, proximity to hotel and efficient shuttle service, efficient and friendly staff
Cons: Construction of the building? Unfortunately the one thing they probably can't fix without rebuilding
Location: Close to the airport, restaurants, shopping
When arriving we noticed the hotel looked a little tired and worn. Once inside the staff were very friendly and efficient, and the lobby/bistro area looked fairly fresh. One small elevator serving two entire floors, another sign of age, more modern hotels would have two larger elevators. As we arrived at our door we were overcome with a strong cigarette odor permeating the hallway, instant headache and the dread that we somehow got placed in a smoking room. Upon opening the door our room was odor free, just don't dare open the door. The room was very clean, well appointed, and the beds were especially comfortable. Here's where it goes bad. After settling in we began to notice a bang here, a bang there, loud footsteps banging overhead, voices from the adjacent room, etc. Every footstep, either above or in hallways, every door banging shut, babies crying, etc., will be heard. The sound is similar to the 1890's house we rented with all wooden floors, except the were a hundred other people in the house! I've stayed in 1890 Inns that carried sound less! Unless you sleep instantly and incredibly deeply I would choose another hotel. Too bad since everything else was quite well done.

Back pain, aches, and noise

Posted May 17, 2017 on Hotels
Rooms lack good soundproofing. I would estimate 30-35 Sound Transmission Class since conversations, intercourse, movement, almost anything can be heard. Doors are missing the bottom part that is typically used to prevent sound and drafts from leaking; about .5 inch gap. Mattress is bumpy and old, and pillows flat or too stiff. Hot water is lacking at random and frequent times. Crusted layers of old coffee under the coffee machine. The only positive aspect is the friendly front desk staff. The quality of building, bedding, plumbing are obsolete. But if compared to a truck stop motel; its average. I will be staying farther away and pay the premium in price and in convenience of distance so I do not wake up exhausted, and with pains and aches.

Clean, quiet, comfortable bedding, central location - perfect for our needs, would definitely stay there again - competive price (stayed 3 nights). Very pleased. Easy check in and out. Friendly staff!

Rainy season get away

We stayed with two children aged 8 and 10. They loved the indoor pool and hot tub. Area was loaded with restaurants. We paid for "breakfast included" which was okay - not great.
