Stayed in two different rooms. Both should be renovated. Shower leaked at the bottom in one. The other by the pool smelled meldewy/moldy. Looked like it had surface mold that was just painted over. Didn't even have fitted sheets, just regular sheets draped and tucked on the mattress. Pool needs to be cleaned more often and the sides of it scrubbed. There needs to be "Do not disturb" signs available. Gym is terrible, sparse, outdated. Something fell apart while I was using it and another made this loud sound. Staff are lovely though! Good central location. Not all hotels even have a pool at this price. more often

This place was a total dump. Did not look like the pictures at all! The entire building is in disrepair. Cockroaches, trim falling off the walls, shower head falling out of the ceiling. When I arrived I asked where to park and the receptionists said the parking lot was full. After a brief altercation I was given a coupon for parking directly across the street. The air conditioning didn’t work. The only pleasant thing about my stay was the friendly maintenance guy who got it working. Trust me you would be more comfortable in a jail cell😳

Acter waiting an hour to check in, they took us to a dirty room. Then we were told it was 150 to park, then when we went to park, it changed to 175. The staff refused to help. After leaving because we had no other option with the car and our stuff, we tried to have expida contact them, the emailed and called with no response. Save your money and avoid. Worst experience we have ever had.

Unfortunately my experience at this hotel was not good, although the staff was very friendly and helpful, the cleanliness of the room was bad, I found a cockroach on the floor in the shower, the drain in the shower was clogged up, you could see the dirt on the floor behind the toilet, also my friend had to move the bed looking for an earring and she noticed a lot of debris under the bed. There were issues opening the door with the keycard.

Obviously the picture on the website was taken many many years ago. Room was old and very dirty. AC didn’t work properly couldn’t adjust temperature so when it was on , it was freezing cold. Patio door didn’t lock and it opened onto the rooftop which was accessible from the street. The wall beside the toilet hadn’t been cleaned in years with urine stains and whatever else running down it. The closet reeked of mildew ( so we kept our clothes in the suitcase) and there was a really large black mark ( about a foot long and 6 inches wide) on the wall underneath the tv that suspiciously looked like mold! On the other hand the staff were friendly and accommodating but unfortunately we will never stay there again or recommend it anyone!

Hotel Maya Yucatan by Kavia. Merida,Yuc. bn Review. First of all, my compliments to the photographer. The hotel IS NOT like it shows on pictures anymore. I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT !!!! This hotel clearly needs maintenance badly, the first room they put us in on the top floor had a strong humidity odor, mildew growth on the ceiling, and warped floors. Definitely nothing like the pictures we saw on Expedia. Shame on Expedia as well, for not checking what they are selling ! I will not even mention their silly excuse at the front desk about our complaint of the room condition…However, they moved us to another room, and let’s say it was “a little better”, if you don't mind waiting 3 days for them to replace the shower head, while you have to shower with the water coming out of the broken side of the shower head (actually, the videos that we have of the shower are kinda funny) Anyway, my advice to everyone that reads this review is NOT TO STAY IN THIS HOTEL. On top of everything, the night before our check out, some of our things were missing… I do have to say, however, the people in the hotel were nice. My guess is, there is a serious management problem. There are MANY little hotels nearby, cheaper and way better. The only reason we didn’t move out was because our daughter had an operation in Merida, which was the only reason for our visit. Kindly The guest you will never see again.

I regularly stay in hotels all over Mexico a few times per month for my work , unfortunately I have never had a worse experience than I had at Hotel Maya Yucatan I expected that it being associated with Kavia a large chain , it would be ok, but boy was I wrong! First off the hotel room was a lot more run down that it shows in the pictures , it needs a lot of maintenance, there was mould in the shower corners as well as in and around the faucet, then the linens were stained , the towels some of them either had stains or had rips , they never even left a had towel for us , and in some days they didn’t even change the towels But that was not the worse , during more than half of my stay there was no hot water when I needed to shower. Now I was there for work and had to be out by a certain time , and everytime this happened I called reception , and either they didn’t answer or they just said it would be fixed shortly and an hour later I still couldn’t take a shower and I was late for work , thanks to this The only way the staff would actually do something about it ( and even then it would take them 20 mins plus) would be if we physically went down to the reception and refused to leave them until they fixed it, this didn happen only once , it happened 4 times And on top of it the attitude from the staff was horrible , instead of helpful … Oh yeah and on the last day there was a dead cockroach outside of our room that no one ever swept up Save your money and don’t stay here !
