"Beautiful hacienda hotel with Mexican hospitality"
From the minute I walked through the entryway with colorful murals, and through the open courtyard filled with tropical plants to the front desk, I knew I was in for a treat. The pictures do not do justice to this beautiful boutique hotel, which combines all the modern amenities with a traditional Mexican design style. The owners live onsite and make sure that everything works well. The breakfast at the hotel restaurant is good, and seems to be a favorite of local business people who come there for morning meetings. There is a soaking pool for cooling down after seeing the sights. My room was large and included extras such as robes and foot massager. The staff helped to arrange sightseeing trips, which made life easy since I don't speak Spanish. The hotel is several blocks from the central plaza tourist area, so it was easy to mingle with local people and enjoy the local food, music, and way of life. I traveled alone and always felt welcome and safe in this neighborhood. On weekends, the main avenue is closed and locals rent bikes to see the grand homes and have brunch. There is also a weekly folk festival and artist market held on the plaza outside the hotel.

    "Nice place"
This place is good for the price, the included breakfast was better than expected and staff were helpful. The only downside for me was that I found the mosquitos particularly bad around the courtyard areas of this hotel.

"Lovely hotel in a magical place"
We loved Valladolid, and El Meson was our hub for doing so! The restaurant (especially the breakfasts that were included) was exceptional.

"Very nice hotel near to Chichen Itza. "
We had a wonderful 2 nights stay in Thompson suite. The resort is amidst beautiful lush greenery where you would be transported back in time. The rooms exude character and the decor is beautiful. The staff were very helpful. They arranged tickets to Chichen Itza monuments and advised us to start early and beat the crowd - very. Useful. They have a private entrance to the monuments and we had a very nice experience in the monuments. The food in their restaurant was really good. Only downside was unavailability of wifi in the rooms. I would strongly recommend this resort.

    "Elegance at Chichen Itza Ruins"
My husband & I stayed in a bungalow here on a past trip so we decided to stay in the Hotel with a view of the Chichen Itza observatory! It was wonderful! On arrival our group of 8 were given warm wash clothes with a lovely lemon smell to freshen up after traveling & a refreshing goblet of fruit juice! Check in was efficient & they gave us lots of information. One great thing about the hotel is the private entry to the ruins so you don't wait in a line at main gate, or pay parking. Our room was so large we had lots of room to spread out & also an ample balcony with a view of ruins. Large bathroom, wonderful honey shampoos & home made soaps. small fridge with reasonably priced drinks & even a snicker bar! Every meal was delicious & we ate at every spot in hotel, dinner in main mural dining room, patio, breakfast buffet & even the simply fabulous brick pizza oven spot outside near ruins entry! This pizza was so good we ate there twice & service was exceptional everywhere! We especially enjoyed our waiter Joaquin who was just so great, tho' each waiter & bartender was exceptionally good! Prices were fair or even low in comparison to USA hotels. I would stay here again!!!
