An amazing place to discover a great gardens and a magnificent house #BVSBlue Photo Contest #blue #tlotravel #weloveourmarkets
Vizcaya is an estate that was built in the early 1900’s by James Deering. He was inspired by European architecture, specifically Italian villas, but also wanted to include traditional Florida history and materials in his home. The unique mix of European and Floridian design is so interesting and beautiful. As we drove through the gates, we felt as if we stepped out of Miami and into a totally different world. We were in awe that this estate sat literally a mile down the road from the renown skyline, bikinis, and bars of Miami.

It is open every day from 9:30 - 4:30 except on Tuesdays when it is closed. It is $18 dollars for adults, $10 for students, and $6 for children. It is worth every penny!

Wonderful property... loved the pool although it closes at 7ish so that was a little early and it is only 3.5 feet deep, but the rooftop patio is wonderful. Our room wasn't lit up enough so it was hard to see things with my old eyes. Overall we loved the location, but might try another property next ...
