This property is about 10-15 minutes from a lot of different hiking options on Mt Tam and also Muir Woods. It was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities we needed for our weeklong stay in the area. Mitch and Susan were great and responsive to all of our questions. I’m so glad I found this place bc this area is great and we enjoyed our time north of the golden gate more than our time in the city. The only two things I will mention here, especially for those staying with children, is that this is a one room apartment, with no door between the bedroom and living area. I misinterpreted the description and the pictures don’t really give a good impression of the size of the apartment. This would be an ideal place to stay alone without kids-for us, however, having no break from my 9 year old for the week was exhausting. The only other thing I’d like to mention here is that the caretakers do live upstairs, and the footsteps in the morning seem loud at times. The couple of days when my son didn’t wake us up with the TV, the footsteps above definitely did. But we are relatively early risers, so it wasn’t a huge deal. But if you like a good sleep-in, that may be difficult at times here. Other than that, this was definitely a five star stay in a perfect location. The bed is super comfy. The view from the deck (which was a very nice deck) was inspiring. Great shower. Thanks for the parking spot. We would definitely stay here again and hope to on a return trip for more art, more hiking and more wine-tasting. ##### Michael W. I had a wonderful stay at Haven in the Woods with two adults and one child. The place was exactly as described—peaceful, quiet, and tucked away in a beautiful wooded setting. It was the perfect setup for our small family, offering a relaxing retreat while still being conveniently close to Muir Woods and the Golden Gate Recreation Area. The check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow, and the hosts were excellent at communicating throughout the stay. It was perfect for our weekend getaway to SF. Close to beautiful Muir Woods and the Golden Gate. We had plenty of time to see everything we wanted to see and visit. The place was quiet, clean, and had everything you would expect to enjoy. The view from the deck is spectacular, especially during sunrise and sunset. Would definitely stay again if I’m in the area again and would recommend to anyone who appreciates nature. ##### Steven A. Perfect location that felt like you had a remote mountain getaway yet just a few minutes from adorable downtown Mill Valley and 15 minutes from Muir Woods! Our host was super responsive and we enjoyed some of the local recs that were in the welcome booklet. The kitchenette was great with all the basic needs. It’s a 25 minute drive to Stinson Beach, 15 minutes from San Francisco, and is situated in the heart of trail hiking heaven. The bed was very comfortable. We loved the back deck for resting and enjoying the trees and views. Mitch and Susan were super friendly! Thanks for a great stay! ##### liz l.
