Parsonage Farm Stables, with stunning views down to the sea
- Parsonage Farm Stables is almost 1000 years old, the hayloft of a farm that has been occupied since the time of the Domesday Book. It's ideal for walkers and dog lovers, offering easy access to all the splendours of Exmoor. Red deer often visit the garden, much to the owner's dismay, and the gentle cluck of our tame chickens creates a relaxing atmosphere throughout the year. Stunning in Summer, with beautiful gardens, and reassuringly cosy in Winter. Sometimes you're above the clouds, and the feeling is rather special. It's not surprising that Coleridge wrote Kubla Khan in this little valley; you can sense the history today.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this historic property. It’s off the beaten track, but the peace and quiet is your reward for getting there. The view to the Bristol Channel from the garden and kitchen window, meant you spent your time watching clouds rolling past or boats going up and down. It gave us a good base to visit parts of Somerset and North Devon.

Fijn huis en prachtige omgeving
Wij zijn hier een week geweest en dat is eigenlijk te kort . De omgeving is prachtig . Het huis is compleet , comfortabel en schoon. Aardige gastvrije eigenaar. Veel gewandeld en gefotografeerd. Zeer de moeite waard.

Wir haben die Ruhe und den tollen Ausblick sehr genossen. Eine sehr schöne Unterkunft, jedoch sollte man nur ein kleines Auto gemietet haben, da das letzte Stück der Zufahrt recht schmal ist und die beidseitig wachsenden Begrenzungen das Auto gut ‚streicheln‘.

Beautiful, quiet retreat
Beautiful cottage with a lovely feeling of being in the middle of nowhere. Wonderfully quiet and peaceful and the views were even better than we had hoped. The cottage was well-equipped with everything we could have wished for and Jeremy was the perfect host.

Just a wonderful place to stay.
This cottage has one of the best views you’ll get anywhere. It is so quiet and peaceful and the cottage so comfortable and easy. You really can relax. Jeremy and his wife are such lovely friendly people. We’ll be back for sure.

What a stunning and peaceful location
We had a fantastic holiday in this beautiful, cosy and comfortable cottage. The off the beaten track location was breathtaking and so peaceful. It was perfect for escaping, but also great for exploring wonderful Exmoor and beyond. Jeremy and Paivi were also wonderful hosts, and our schnauzer Rubie loved meeting their resident schnauzers too! We had such a fantastic holiday, one of our best!
