Savvy travelers often use Motobu as a launch pad for further explorations. This popular region has plenty of great cities, attractions and landscapes. Places within a relatively short distance of Motobu are Yomitan, 20 miles (32 kilometers) to the northeast, and Goya, 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the north.
When you are ready to venture further afield why not visit the nearest regional area. Naha is approximately 35 miles (56 kilometers) away and is home to sights like Tsushima-maru Memorial Museum, Shuri Castle and Naminouegu Shrine. Tamaudoun Site, Himeyuri Peace Museum and Makishi Public Market are some more interesting attractions worth checking out for those who have time left.
Okinawa offers visitors a number of shrines and other holy sites, great places to get an insight into Motobu's gentler side. Journey into the past while you are staying in the area. Visit some of the historic palaces for which this part of the world is renowned.
Wildlife watching and sunbathing are just some of the many other activities in the Okinawa area. Touring to new regions sometimes brings out the wild side in travelers. If you are up for a challenge, try hot air ballooning.
At the finish of your trip, pack up your backpack and wish Japan a fond Sayōnara (farewell).
