Avoid taking a taxi (it cost me 44 euros for 9kms). The tram is very nice, stopping just outside the terminal door (1.50 euros/ person). The Hotel Villa Victoria is between the two stops on the Boulevard Victor Hugo. I returned to the airport T2 from Alsace Lorraine. Hotel Villa Victoria is located perfectly between two of the main shopping strips - Boulevard Gambetta and Avenue Jean Medecin and perfectly between Gare Nice Ville (Nice's central station) and the main beach. From the moment I arrived at Villa Victoria I was treated extremely well. The Hotel is a classical old building with a character all of its own. Downstairs, it has a variety of places to relax, read the paper, listen to music and have a free coffee in the afternoon. The staff are so charming and helpful (note: confirm your car space directly by phoning the hotel beforehand). Its no secret the rooms are of a cosy size, however, the cleanliness cannot be overstated. Everything is so clean and fresh. I arrived at a time when the restaurant was newly renovated and it is a beautiful place to have breakfast with the view onto the garden. Nice is a busy, lively, historic city, nevertheless, my first floor room overlooking the garden was extremely quiet. I came on holiday with my bicycle but used the train to go to Cannes and Vintimlle (Italy). My favourite rides - The Napoleon Route, Col de Vence, the coast road from Nice to Monte Carlo including St Jean Cap Ferrat, Cannes to St Raphael and the Renoir Museum.
