“Very nice cottage. The deck was great. The lake was very clear you could see fish and turtles in the water. Watched a loon swim under my kayak. Very nice and relaxing time.”

“My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this site. The view of Lake Huron was beautiful. The lake is RIGHT THERE! No steep steps required to get to the water. The house interior has a rustic homey vibe that we just loved. It reminded us of my parents' home. The house was very clean and comfortable. While we were there, we saw a large eagle in a nearby tree. It was visible from the front window. It was perched in a nearby tree for 20 minutes and then flew off. We also met the next-door……

“The property was amazing you have the best of lakefront, views and river front. Listening to the dam and river was so relaxing, the lake is also very calm and the views are really nice. “Overall we greatly enjoyed our time here. However, there were a few issues. First, the freezer melted our ice cream. Second, we were basically told "good luck" about using the oven, which would have been nice to know before we bought groceries. Third, the heat had already been turned off for the season and it was COLD at night. Thankfully some of the beds had heaters, which was great. The fireplace downstairs is just for looks/ambience. “My Dad’s funeral was today. My parents have lived on Houghton Lake for 20 years, but we decided to rent from this host to free up room in their house for other guests. Property was immaculate, every amenity one might forget was available at the property, and they left an amazing apple/ caramel pie for us. “A great little place on a nice small lake. Selling point and most fun of the weekend was using kayaks and rowboat. Only 20 minutes to Gaylord. Nearby Otsego Lake State Park for beach fun. Super appreciate the communication from owners- as well as providing extra requests!! Would consider this place again!”

“We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The location is quiet, the lake was beautiful, the furniture and the King bed were comfortable. The patio was so nice to sit and enjoy the lake. Hubby loved the hot tub although he struggled with the settings a bit. The amount of towels available was amazing. We hope to return!”
