I feel a bit generous giving a 3 star review. The building was nice, but I don’t think the person at the from desk ever actually looked at me during check in - not rude, per se, just totally disinterested. There was no shampoo dispenser in my shower (it was missing completely) and the soap dispenser was empty, so if you like to shower with only conditioner, add another star. The worst part was breakfast- I got to the cafe by 7am and the eggs and meat were gone and the pancake machine had no batter. I stood there for 15 minutes and nobody showed up, fortunately they had some pop tarts so I had something to take to the airport with me. I’m in VA Beach frequently but probably won’t at Tru again.

This hotel was fabulous. Staff were super friendly and made pre-check in so easy, and were very quick to respond to any questions. Everything was so clean, thoughtful, and welcoming. Amenities were amazing, relaxing and clean. Kitchen was fully equipped with everything you need and very clean.

The hotel is in the middle of renovations, so there’s that. Great location and check in staff was friendly. For the price we paid for an oceanfront room, the room was ok. It had been updated, but there were cigarette ashes on our balcony and hair all over our room floor. The bathroom ceiling had mold. The neighbors that stayed near us Saturday night were obnoxiously loud til 4:30am, but that’s not the hotels fault.

Close to beach. Ground level beach access rooms. Grounds need to be picked-up a bit. Centrally located along boardwalk.
