My room was in the walkway above the lobby- I could hear the phone ring all night long. My door looked like a crowbar had been used to open it, it did not make me feel secure.

The hotel was beautiful. Both my wife and I loved the mix of modern materials and technology with the ambience of what existed as a manufacturing plant years ago. In the rooms, brick walls, exposed beams, and pipes added contrast to the clean windows and painted sheetrock walls. Pictures reminded us of the history of the building. We had a river view from our room in the part of the hotel that was away from the river and the view was wonderful. You could see both the river coming from the north and going to the south. With the riverfront walk going between the two buildings of the hotel, you could also see activity of people moving on their bicycles, jogging, or just walking. The staff treated us as friends. At the front desk, both Jenna and Rebecca listened and reacted to any requests that we had. Housekeeping did a great job keeping our room clean and stocked during our 3 day stay there. We enjoyed the breakfast; however, it would have been better if there were heaters under the hot items and if there had been an additional high end coffee machine in the breakfast area. But it was nice to have a Nespresso coffee machine in our room so we could make our own cups while the machine in the breakfast area was busy. Our first night in the hotel, we decided to eat at the Millhouse Restaurant in the hotel and we were very pleased with the atmosphere, food, prices, and service there. It turned out to be our best restaurant experience during our stay in Columbus.

Our stay was an absolute nightmare and a complete bait-and-switch. The property looks nothing like the Expedia pictures; instead of an apartment building, it turned out to be unmarked townhouses in a private neighborhood. The listed address sent us to a completely different location, and once we finally stumbled upon the right area, none of the units actually had address numbers on them. Worse yet, no one was expecting us upon arrival. After calling customer service to figure out how to check in, we were shocked to learn that our booked room wasn’t even available because it was still actively under construction. Since we were a group of 5 guests, they tried to offer us a tiny 1-bedroom apartment as a replacement. This was entirely unacceptable for a group of our size, so I rightly demanded a full refund for their failure to provide what was promised on the travel site. Because of this booking chaos, we had to scramble at the last minute to find any available accommodation in the area. We were forced to stay at a 3-star hotel, which was well below what my family expected and planned for. Our entire trip was ruined, and we are deeply disappointed. This experience puts Expedia in a very bad spotlight. It is clear they are not inspecting these properties or verifying the quality of service that the property management is offering to the public. Save yourself the stress and book somewhere else.

When we arrived late afternoon there was a note attached to the front door directing us to our room and that they were busy with another client, but did supply a number to call. Our room door was wide open with the keys laying on a table. We did try to call to ask about the wifi and breakfast. We received a text, 3 hours later, with the wifi info and that we were not getting breakfast or coffee as it was not included. I understand about breakfast, but no coffee? There was no TV's anywhere and I do not remember seeing that on the site, but I may have overlooked. The house itself was nice, historical, but we were not overwhelmed by it, nor the lack of attention to customers by the owners. Very overpriced for what you get.

This property is a hidden gem. The outer appearance is appealing which leads you to the well-maintained inside. There was plenty of room for our guests and the hosts were very responsive and courteous. We will definitely be back the next time we're in the area.
